Friday seems to be lasting forever. Is the first day of Spring tomorrow but the winter lingers in the inky dark and cold outside my window. Later a hunter;s moon will rise and hopefully the owls will be back to chase the possums around our trees :)

Cat urine is bad news for electronics. When I was in my early teens and living at home, my Mom had seven cats - and one day one (or more) of then decided to pee into Dads fancy stereo - completely destroyed the sucker. Several hundred dollars later, Dad had a new stereo, Moms personal budget had taken hit (she had to pay for the new gear) and the cats were locked out of the new "Dads Stereo Room".

One of the cats DID end up going to a new home after it shredded Moms prized knit cushions from Grandmom. Tsk on cats! :snake:

A cat sicked up all over the keyboard of an Apple II once years ago. The Apple still worked last I looked, the cat is long gone :)

I wonder the same. I went to open it yesterday and it installed automatically. Very annoying. I like having control over what is being installed and when.

I'm sure there would be a setting or plugin for that, the Linux world has auto installs well under control :)

It's FRIDAY FRIDAY gotta get down on Friday! :vampire: :vampire:

Last day of work before 1 week of vacation, w00t! Going home early as well, can't beat that. Going to pick up a tiny bottle of tipple for tonight to celebrate (I'm allowed a little, thankfully), and will have low-carb turkey chili for dinner! Yum!!

No big plans for tomorrow - hang out at home, drink coffee, cook, and WRITE! W00t! :snake:

    General observations:

    - Co-workers bringing in donuts is now cruel, not cool %-P
    - Beans beat bred in the "how good is it for my blood glucose"" contest, bread really causes issues
    - Beating up on clay is VERY catharctic :snake: :snake:
    - It's hard to stay motivated when you leave on vacation in 3 hours ;-)
    - my new alarm clock will arrive today, yaay!
    - It's dead in the office - lots of people "went to lunch" never to return
    - Even a cheap BBQ is expensive! :wow:
    - Good guitar, and good keyboards, are NOT cheap :-S
    - It's already hot out and it's going to hit 101F today, yikes :bug:
    - This board needs a FISH emote, but the snake is cool :snake: :snake:
    - The kissy face kind of looks like a fish face
    - I sense a nap when I get home unless I blast down a triple latte' :bug:

Everyone have a great weekend, all my fellow Yanks have a great Labor Day! :-)

Good question! Maybe we need a "Goof Off Day" or "Slacker Day"? :-P

Well, this is my first full Photoshop. I've never had anything better than PS Elements before. So I'm hoping that CS6 will last me a very long time.

It grows on you. There are many parts of it that you will probably never need but some of the cool stuff it does can quickly become second nature and part of your thinking process.

Their book "Photoshop CS6: Classroom in a Book" is worth having if you're new to the app. It doesn't cover everything but is a strong start to establishing a functional workflow and identifying the wide range of features available. The "HELP" menus in the app itself covers things that the book doesn't, but they're not tutorials.

Yeah, it's a learning curve but everything you want to do is there somewhere. If a new version of Photoshop comes out every two years and the upgrade price is $200 then it's worth budgeting $100/year to stay current. That's cheaper even than the $15/month they want for cloud access to the applications.

Photoshop by itself is great but one of the biggest advantages of owning or using several Adobe products in the suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, AfterEffects, InDesign, PremierPro, Dreamweaver, and the Adobe Bridge, etc.) is the ability to pass files back & forth between them easily. Like DAZ's Studio, Carrara, Bryce bridges try to do, except that Adobe's interprocess communication actually works reliably even with some of the older products!

The abilities of the various apps in the suite are impressive but the ability to exchange information and work together easily adds value, as does it's ability to also coordinate a team of people working on the same project. This may not be applicable in your situation, but is the ability to work simultaneously with a team of people on the same project and keep it straight about who is actually changing what parts of the project at any moment. Great in a professional organization like a magazine company where you may want to have several optional image layouts to be presented for review or automated to produce numerous similar images varying only by customized text or image values pulled from a database for individual clients or for various types of printing processes, (i.e. offset printing, laser printing, dye transfer, inkjet, etc.)

You sound like the one to talk to about PS. I'm kind of stuck, the DS bridge says install into the plugins folder. Well, is that the Abode Bridge folder which has a Plug-ins folder or would it go in the Adobe Photoshop folder which also has a Plug-ins folder? It's not very clear on where it should go.

I believe it is supose to go here C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Plugins

Okay, I'll never figure this out. Three different folks tell me three different things. I'm gonna play this safe and ask in the Adobe forums. I wonder how many different answers I'll get there? I feel like I'm trying to tinkle up a rope at this point.

This is where I have mine, and it works. C:\Users\Skiriki\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins

Well it might possibly go there. However, that folder is for user specific plugins and memory of settings that each separate user has established while running various Adobe applications.

The DAZ Bridge would definitely NOT be part of the Adobe Bridge. The DAZ Bridge is added functionality to Photoshop itself. The Adobe Bridge is a tool to examine & organize image libraries and pass images between various Adobe suite products.

But my best guess is that major plugins that would be used by any login user that uses Photoshop on that system would go here:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins
Being careful not to put things in any folder named something like "Photoshop Only" which has been traditionally used for virgin Photoshop features.

Also since the DAZ Bridge is executable code there would be a 64-bit version and a 32-bit version each put under the appropriate top level folder (i.e. "Program Files/..." for 64-bit or "ProgramFiles(x86)/... " for 32-bit) Whereas the user specific folder under ".../Your Name/AppData/..." appears to only contain data values, not executables, and no obvious way to accomodate two versions(i.e. 64 or 32 bit).

However, take my advice with a grain of salt because I have not installed the DAZ Bridge since I've had a 64-bit machine.

Feeling strangely pissed off, like I had a burr up my butt.

Wishing that the Songbird Remix's Raven would get a texture and shape update. Poor thing looks a bit shabby and so.

PlatClub coupon announcement popped up, and therefore I predict that within 24 hours there will be much gnashing of teeth, wailing and sprinkling of ashes while wearing a sackcloth in the new thread and that level of negativity just ticks me off worse. (Like I said, I'm feeling like I have a burr up my butt. I'm complaining about complainers.)

I've seen more green trees mugged by Miss Autumn. I got my eye on you, punk.

I think it is more like burdock burr. Possibly stuck. Much like a really spiky dingleberry.

You do not have to celebrate it. If I was working I would work on laborious day. Since I currently have no job I am not working at all.
