"That is totally not simple looking! That is SWEET! Love the composition! Great lighting too… See you a natural!"
Composition? Possibly~ I really liked the camera angle, and was the third one I found. I actually found this one by accident and had to repose the neck to fit it in the frame. Well it fit in before, but it was terribly distorted by the camera settings.
    .
Modeling? Nope. The "velociraptor" was a model that was too cute to pass up, which apparently is no longer being sold (It's no longer showing up in the searches on the store I found it at.), and the building itself was downloaded from the CG Lighting Challenge thread(s).
    .
Lighting and Materials? Dunno. There was only one light in the scene - a Directional/Infinite Light. As for the materials, they're all either Diffuse or Phong materials using bitmaps from 3DTotal's "Aged and Stressed" DvD. I just plugged them in and hit render.

LOL did you just critique my critiquing? HAHA! I am baffeled now, is this your render or did you find it, I'm confuzzled :ohh:

    Render yes, models no.
The room like I said was from a challenge anyone and everyone is encourgaed to take part in (Most of them already finished by now, you can see the final entries for each challenge) and with any software they desire. There were a few Carrara and Blender entries in a few of them. The model itself is provided in several formats - usually at least with an OBJ version (The super polygon-heavy "Museum of Natural History scene has a version that is split into five models so it wont crash some programs on loading. Includes a Trex skeleton!). The scenes do not include any textures or lights in *any* of the file formats, since it's for *you* to texture and light.
    .
Anyways, the link to all the challenges (Again, free for anyone to dabble in.)
    http://www.3drender.com/challenges/index.htm
And the final entries for the scene I used this in:
    http://www.3drender.com/challenges/hauntedhallway/index.htm
    .
The raptor I can't link back to because it seems the model is no longer being sold. (It was in Cinema 4D format only, and was $120 so I don't know what use that would have been anyway ^_^; )
    .
    .
But yes, the render itself is something I did. My first few renders were way too dark, and I spent nearly an hour of frustration experimenting on the values of the lights (I'd tweak one, and then the sky went black. I tweaked the sky, and it stayed black. I put in absurdly high values - stayed black. etc etc etc) until I mvoed the sky BY AN INCH and suddenly it was nice and bright again. o_O
    .
    I don't think I'll ever fully understand Indigo's lights.
    .
    .
    .
I'd encourage you all to take a look at the thread, since there are a lot of great scenes to play with. "The King's Treasure" as some nice coins and stuff :3

Murr... Funny how I did a ton of crazy stuff like this image here when I was usign Carrara, but stopped experimenting when I started using Cinema. Huh.
    .
Anyways, I do remember I did not use a color map for the critter, just transparency (And used the bump map in the transparency slot XD ) and some caustics - especially on them claws :3

Oh I never said I didn't think it looked good. I was really happy with it when I first made it. I just said that I sort of stopped messing around with materials and stuff and mixing and matching things when I started using Cinema.

Talking of Dragons, does anyone have any idea which of the 3d Dragon figures which are available could best be used to prtray the Welsh dragon in a render. OK he is very stylised on the flag, but I want him to come to life in a render. SO far I ave had the old Adult Hatchling reccomended as possibly the nearest, but would like any other possibilities.

    http://www.theflagshop.co.uk/wales--welsh-flag-16-p.asp

BTW needs to be usable in poser.

I'm pretty sure someone did a Welsh dragon with the Adult Hatchling soon after it was released.

I'll show once I'm done, but it is one of those commissioned gnome wizard piccies.

Part of me wishes that I have goofed up something, so I can add an ice cream to the pic. (!!!)

Part of me wishes that it comes through 100% fine, so I can move on to the next picture and finish the assignment.

Mostly from my friends who play this online D&D game and who want their characters done. You can see some of them done so far in my DeviantArt account.

my neighbor is setting up for a backyard party. i see kegs

when my dog looks up at me with bottom whites of his eyes showing it suckers me into making him a snack.

if i stand at the fence with an empty beer mug and bottom white of my eyes showing, maybe my neighbor will fills my mug with keg?
