Cat urine is bad news for electronics. When I was in my early teens and living at home, my Mom had seven cats - and one day one (or more) of then decided to pee into Dads fancy stereo - completely destroyed the sucker. Several hundred dollars later, Dad had a new stereo, Moms personal budget had taken hit (she had to pay for the new gear) and the cats were locked out of the new "Dads Stereo Room".

One of the cats DID end up going to a new home after it shredded Moms prized knit cushions from Grandmom. Tsk on cats! :snake:

I wonder the same. I went to open it yesterday and it installed automatically. Very annoying. I like having control over what is being installed and when.

    @Misty: XD That's cute! Though the dragon(s?) have a pale-white underbelly :3
I always found it funny that in the scenes that you can get into during visiting towns, the dragons seemed to have better luck with the ladies than he did XD (Usually when they took over running hte body, then minutes later he's all like "Wuh? Wha happened?" because he can't remember anything that happens while the dragon(s) are in control XD
I also found it funny on that other planet or whatever it was... How people were mistaking the dragon heads for puppets XD
    ..
    .
r.e. Photoshop: Photoshop has a few things I simply must have that Elements does not. I can't remember exactly what they all are/were, but one of them I think had to do with layers, and another with how it handled video and animated files.

However regarding half price offers... Except for educational discount neither Adobe nor any of their authorized resellers is in the habit of ever offering any more than about 20% off any of their flagship products, especially the latest suite. :-o So... I'm suspicious everytime I see a mail or web offer too good to be true. Not to say that someone hasn't hijacked a truckload of official Adobe products and is selling them under the counter at below market prices, or that someone has semi-successfully "warzed" one of Adobe's products that may bite you in the ass when you go to upgrade someday. But I'm curious to hear who is selling for that price and whether the product actually ever arrived and licenced itself properly.
It was a straight Adobe offer to me. I knew about the 20% off typical that was why I had to really look at this offer before I believed it. Any thing that says save $400 for Adobe is very unlikely in my book. This was real and right off the home site. I'm very pleased.

I cannot get anything right now. I am trying to see if I can get into a week long hotel or something. Hopefully my support group can help me with that and help me get food stamps. I cannot live in the same building as my stepfather for much longer. Best case scenario I will just have one more night to spend there then I will be in the hotel until I can find a group home. I do not get along with my stepfather. I am trying. Mum says he is trying but I am not so sure.

I'm still using Photoshop CS3 Extended. Really the newer Photoshops just don't have anything I need badly enough to upgrade. Unlike going several versions without upgrading C4D, there doesn't seem to be any real drawback to not upgrading PS.
    .
    .
I do have CS5 Extended, but it's only on my desktop (Haven't installed it on my new lappy) and the interface confuses me, as does the fancy animated zooming and panning which always seems to re-enable itself after I disable it.

It grows on you. There are many parts of it that you will probably never need but some of the cool stuff it does can quickly become second nature and part of your thinking process.

Their book "Photoshop CS6: Classroom in a Book" is worth having if you're new to the app. It doesn't cover everything but is a strong start to establishing a functional workflow and identifying the wide range of features available. The "HELP" menus in the app itself covers things that the book doesn't, but they're not tutorials.

Yeah, it's a learning curve but everything you want to do is there somewhere. If a new version of Photoshop comes out every two years and the upgrade price is $200 then it's worth budgeting $100/year to stay current. That's cheaper even than the $15/month they want for cloud access to the applications.

Photoshop by itself is great but one of the biggest advantages of owning or using several Adobe products in the suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, AfterEffects, InDesign, PremierPro, Dreamweaver, and the Adobe Bridge, etc.) is the ability to pass files back & forth between them easily. Like DAZ's Studio, Carrara, Bryce bridges try to do, except that Adobe's interprocess communication actually works reliably even with some of the older products!

The abilities of the various apps in the suite are impressive but the ability to exchange information and work together easily adds value, as does it's ability to also coordinate a team of people working on the same project. This may not be applicable in your situation, but is the ability to work simultaneously with a team of people on the same project and keep it straight about who is actually changing what parts of the project at any moment. Great in a professional organization like a magazine company where you may want to have several optional image layouts to be presented for review or automated to produce numerous similar images varying only by customized text or image values pulled from a database for individual clients or for various types of printing processes, (i.e. offset printing, laser printing, dye transfer, inkjet, etc.)

You sound like the one to talk to about PS. I'm kind of stuck, the DS bridge says install into the plugins folder. Well, is that the Abode Bridge folder which has a Plug-ins folder or would it go in the Adobe Photoshop folder which also has a Plug-ins folder? It's not very clear on where it should go.
