RiverSoftArt, thank you so much for this converter. It worked wonderfully on the G3 male clothing that I tried it on. I hope that you are able to make converters for the earlier male generation clothing (a definite insta-buy for me). This has expanded my G8M clothing library and will also benefit DAZ and PAs as I will be picking up some older G3M clothing for use with G8M.
I also want to thank you for your other scripts, especially Look at Me (which I use constantly). They have made things in DAZ Studio much easier for me.
Used it to try G8M wearing Desperado HD for G3. The clothing fit wonderfully with no adjustments needed...much better than with the stock Studio Autofit. (Tried to upload quick render but file does not want to attach.)

Correction...finally the pic uploaded :)
You are very welcome! I appreciate the kind words and the support. And thank you for sharing your experience and pic, it will help other people.
I have submitted to Daz today updates for both the Clothing Converter G3F -> G8F and Clothing Converter G3M -> G8M. Hopefully you will see it pretty soon.
Fixes and improvements:
Improved conversion process, getting rid of most of the underarm pokethrough and shoulder padding problems
Added Foot Poser Dialog manual step for problem high-heeled shoes (turn on Use Foot Dialog and turn off Use Foot Pose)
Added Force Convert Footwear button to force conversion of misidentified clothing items as footwear so that the Use Foot Pose and Use Foot Dialog options can be used
Added ability to detect if Daz Versions already exist for clothing items being added (so you don't convert something you already have)
Added ability to memorize unconverted items so that the script won't attempt to convert them later
Added message dialog when no items are selected and user clicks Execute From Selected, Convert Item(s), Force Convert Item(s), and Force Convert Footwear.
Improved searching for associated foot poses by looking for "feet" or "foot" and "pose" (before, it only looked for "foot" and "pose")
Fixed bug by trying to call DzTransferUtility.setParentToFigure method, which was not introduced until Daz Studio 4.10.0.50
Thank you for making a male version in addition to the female one. Will grab it tomorrow. Love all of your products!
You are completely welcome! Personally, I think this converter is more important than the G3F->G8F converter. There are so few male products compared to female products that anything that can make my male library bigger is important
EGADS! You hit the nail on the head there, sir. The library of male clothes is like one TENTH the size of the female ones.
A Cross Dress clothing convertor would help to as their are hair styles and clothes that could be used on either but are only their at the moment for one figure or the other.

I have discussed this with Sickleyield. No promises yet.
I just love your scripts so much. So useful and I give all the ones I have plenty of use. There are few things in my library of stuff that I find indespensible, but I find ALL of your scripts that I have indespensible, and that's saying something :)
Thanks so much to you (and Sy too) for these wonderful converters (and for the upcoming G2-G8 converter as well. Brilliant!! :D

I heartily agree. I look at my scripts libary and marvel at your ingenuity. Kudos. :)

I'd like to add my appreciation too - I (finally) grabbed the G3M-G8M converter yesterday and spent a chunk of time converting today.
I've only got from products named A - D so far (I'm converting one letter at a time then trying out the results, so it's taking me a while) and only had a couple of failures. The Bard outfit boots just don't seem to want to fit (no idea why, because several other pairs of boots converted perfectly well), a few items had to be force converted (I'm guessing their metadata is suspect) and one of my Arki outfits lost the movement morphs - it's a slightly odd one because the movement morphs seem to be controlling deformers rather than directly moving polygons or bones. Maybe that one needs to be done with SY's manual method. But all in all it's been a great success, so thank you!
I look forward to the Gen2-Gen8 Converter (hoping there will be a male one!)

I really like this product. The one issue I have is with the tops seeming lower than the shoulders of the converted model. Is there anything I can do to fix this? The pants and shoes work fine, usually, but the tops seem to come in a few inches below the shoulder.

This is Cool Casual Outfit
Sorry not really. I got complaints with the female version about the shoulders being too high and underarms exposed. I came up with an alternate method of doing it which fixes that but sometimes the shoulders are now too low. I would use smoothing. Sorry.
ooh, that would be super groovy. Most of the outfits. I would say like 85 percent convert fine with the tool which is a an acceptable ratio.. The remaining 15 percent convert at the lower altitude like that. Having the option would bring the others over... I hope. =-)

I had an issue in the G3F thread with gloves where they were a little low - jbethel mentioned setting G8 to 'move to floor' helps. She apparently drops down about .73 units - I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it might also be worth trying in these instances, Serene?
Not sure if I did something wrong, but the only things that got converted when I ran the script were accessories. Pants, jackets, shirts, etc. didn't get converted at all. Is there an option (a box I have to check) for converting those?

Were the pants, jackets, shirts added to the clothing list? What did the log say (Pick one that didn't convert, try to convert it, and please post the log)?

Ok, I figured it out after playing with it. Even though the pants, jackets and shirts were added to the list, whenever I used "execute" it only converted the accessories. Whatsmore, is that though I could see "checked" the things that didn't convert, I couldn't press anything on the windows. No button worked after the list was "executed", which meant I had to close the script and open it again.
My workaround is: going through my list of outfits (adding files) one by one, then selecting them and using the "convert items" button rather than execute. Whatever doesn't get converted, I select and use the "force convert items." So far that's working so I'm happy :).

That is not how it is supposed to work though. It sounds like the script crashed when you couldn't do anything after executing. The log would really be helpful in this case.
Alright so a couple of things of notes (to get the log without possibly overriding all the work I've done via my workaround):
I changed the output directory so the converted clothes would be inside a "G3 converted clothing" folder within the path: "My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8 Male\Clothing\G3 Converted Clothing"
I then added the entire directory "My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 3 Male\Clothing\"
Selected all of the clothes. See attached 001 and 002.
Ran the script via execute.
When I run the script I always get this message for auto-fit but it doesn't allow me to do anything except click accept ("unsupported is the only option I have). I get it for that entire outfit: belt, pants, hat, shoes, shirt, vest and scarf. See attach 003 (which I'm trying to upload but it stays "uploading" forever) I click accept for all of them.
Script suddenly stops (everything is still selected and checked). See attached 04.
Can't save the log file (button doesn't work) so I selected, copy and pasted onto a notepad. See attached Log.
In fact, none of the buttons work for the script. This is the point where I have to close the script. Also of note, the OTT's outfit (On the Town for Genesis 3 Male) stays on the scene. See attached 005.
I went ahead and converted that outfit via the workaround (Convert Item(s)). See attached 006 and see Log2.
I checked to see if it worked and it did. See attached 007.
In case it's helpful, Log3 (for the entire session) you can find it here (dropbox link since I couldn't upload here for some reason).
Let me know if you need me to check something else.
You do not have to select (highlight) anything to use Execute. They just need to be checked. Selecting is for the Convert buttons
NEVER click Accept for the Autofit dialog. ALWAYS CANCEL. This is explained in the manual. Clicking Accept will eventually cause "Bad Things To Happen"
The second time you did the workaround, nothing happened. The log2 says it skipped the conversion as you had already converted them. This is because you have skip if file exists
You can get the Daz log by going to Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File... The log1 you posted stops early and is mostly skipping props (which can't be converted). The Log3 is the most interesting, and even shows at the very top that dragoh pants were converted.
I can't go through that many lines of the log3. If there is a specific item that is troubling you, post only that section of the log and I can tell you what happened.

Oh, didn't see that part of the manual so maybe by clicking accept the script crashed then. It's weird because that dialogue box that pops out with the On the Town for Genesis 3 Male doesn't pop out when I do the conversion via "convert item(s)".
At any rate, I finished all the outfits via the workaround. It took longer, but it's still worth it :).

LOL. After running this converter, the Genesis 8 Male library has a lot of junk in it.

My only regrets about your clothing convertor is I did not realize when the G3F to G8F convertor was out on sale how great a thing it was.
I bought the male version and LOVE it.
My only problem now is waititng for the female version to go up for sale at some point. I may just buy it off sale but ....you know.... finances. :)
I plan to spend a weekend for the female clothes converting all weekdn when I can get it. :)
I have discussed this with Sickleyield. No promises yet.
Thank you. I'm glad you like it.
How are things coming along, Riversoft? :)

Interesting. Any chance of releasing the original option, as an alternative for outfits that go too low? Or would that complicate things?
Everything complicates things I will see if it is easy to add.
