[Released] Clothing Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male [Commercial]

Finally, use your Genesis 3 Male clothing with your Genesis 8 Male characters! Automatically convert almost your entire wardrobe of clothes and many accessories using the new Clothing Converter for Genesis 8 Male! The Clothing Converter script provides batch execution for automatically converting your Genesis 3 Male clothing to Genesis 8 Male clothing in your library. It can now even convert high-heeled shoes!  Easily select the wardrobe items in your library, select an output directory, and execute the script. Even better, icons and categories are copied from your Genesis 3 Male clothing to the new Genesis 8 Male clothing items.

Your new Genesis 8 Male wardrobe is completely Smart Content aware!  They will show up when you select a Genesis 8 Male. Plus, all materials shown in Smart Content for your Genesis 3 Male item will show for your converted Genesis 8 Male item.Converted clothing, instead of using Auto-Fit, produces vastly less distorted results, especially with high-heeled shoes.

The Clothing Converter script does not work with props (e.g., swords, wands, etc) and wearables (e.g., outfits). Items without metadata can be converted but will not show up in Smart Content. They may also need to be converted using a Force Convert Item(s) button. High-heeled shoes may require a manual step during conversion if the original shoes do not include a compatible foot pose.

The script may not be able to convert all clothing items without issues. Converted items may exhibit poke through. Usually, this can be fixed by adding a smoothing modifier or a push modifier.

    So just to be clear: is it possible to select individual items to convert as needed, or is it only possible to do the entire library at once?

    The script, if it is anything like the female version, works off a list that you can fill either by selecting a folder or by selecting files. You will need to browse to said files locations, and scanning your Connect folder is understandably slow, as the script will need to scan the whole library instead of just clothes because of the way Connect organizes your products in individual subfolders, but all-in-all you'll have as much control as you want over what you convert and when you want to convert it.

    Uthgard described it perfectly.  The interface is exactly like the G3F->G8F version, so those who have used that will feel perfectly at home with this one.  Same options: add individual files or add entire directories.

    Thank you! When you first announced the G8F version, I think you'd said that individual selections weren't possible, and I didn't keep up to see what had or hadn't changed. I'm glad to see that this is now an option.

    Thank you! When you first announced the G8F version, I think you'd said that individual selections weren't possible, and I didn't keep up to see what had or hadn't changed. I'm glad to see that this is now an option.

    You have always had the option of adding individual files.  However, the first release would not recognize files where there was no metadata in the CMS.   Now it can add those files, though the metadata when they are loaded still has to be correct.

    Are there ANY plans for doing G2 to G8 or Genesis or even M4/V4 to G8? I have a HUGE inventory that I am dying to convert! :)

    Unfortunately, the other generations are not as easy to convert between as G3 and G8 (not that this was easy smiley).  It is actively being investigated (as I have a pretty big inventory I would like to convert too smiley), which is all I can say at this time.

    I'll be glad to see this, but I have a lot fewer male clothes to convert than female ones, so it's relative value isn't as high as the G3F to G8F converter was.  On the other hand, I'm really interested in being able to roll the G8F clothes back to G3F, as I still primarily use the G3s but most of the new clothes coming out are just for G8.

    It's released!

    It's in my cart and will be bought today.

    Will you do next some cross gender converter and G8 to G3?

    Most interesting would be

    G8M to G3F
    and G8F to G3F
