I thought "soon" was banned here?

When? Should I save my unspent vouchers for this month?.

I suggested tackling a real life school uniform to Wilmap some time ago, in September, I guess. She said she could try to do that as time allows her, so this will be a race between two great artists . I am eagerly awaiting both!

Sorry but there won't be any race!!! I am still plodding through my list. as you always seam to find ways to make stuff that complements and dose not compete. what you said in more ways then first implied, lol.

marble, I usually don't worry about that. If it is worth getting, then it is worth putting into the budget, or working other things around in the budget to get the item (voucher or not). Don't they have a first day sale at least on new items, or is that only for PA's that approve such?

I was going to get the Drape control thing this month, however pending many unanswered questions, I opted for Reality and Luxus instead. If this is released this month, it will be purchased on the third of January at full price anyway. Thus I don't worry.

Yes I'm biting my tong about some PA's yanking items that are less then a year old. If they don't want to sell the item, then it is there loss as well. Not her, not this thread, and not today.

I must admit I get mightily confused over all the sale conditions. At the moment I'm a PC+ member which increases the complexity 10-fold. So there are items I can buy at a certain price but only if I buy another item first ... oh - I could go on and on.

I have a voucher for "PlatClub" which EXCLUDES Platinum Club items! Go figure that one! Another for Save $6 which excludes new releases - the very items we are talking about here. Nevertheless, I hardly ever buy items which are not included in some sort of sale promotion - I just can't afford the full prices here.

If 'soon' is banned - then nobody told me :P PA's cant be specific with release dates, as Daz organizes releases (for practical reasons), not us, they are just at the mercy of when we get things finished. :)
I'm hoping the female version will be out this month as its finished.
Hopefully January for the male version.

Good news - I don't have any G2M characters anyway (still using M4 and Genesis males).

There's a version for the gents as well. Where is the "I'm not worthy' emoticon.
    (EDIT)
I say that as this is something that dose not have to be used in a school setting, the items are almost guaranteed to be useful in scenes of more recent era. Even with adults, not just kids.
    (EDIT2)
May I suggest that at least one promo show the versatility of the items in a setting other then the primary theme of the item. Or at least an image that shows the independent items that load separately, that have multiple material zones to make some parts customizable.
    (EDIT3)
An example of what I'm talking about. There are outfits I have not purchased, that I will not, because there is no indication if I can use a part of the product without bending over backwards to make the rest disappear from the scene. There are others I have no such concerns bout, like this particular item by Fisty (As an example).

On the blazer Jacket you will have 10 Mat Zones,

Main Jacket (includes sleeves - I guess i could have separated them, but buts too late now.)
    Badge,
    Badge Trim
    Buttons
    Cuff Buttons
    Cuffs
    Cuff Piping
    Blazer piping/ trim
    Pockets piping / trim
    Pockets upper
    Pockets Lower

There will be hide mat presets for the badge, pockets and cuffs, and other partial mats to change the color of the trim
Most other items will have roughly 4-5 Mat zones each. (Applies to both male and female versions)

When I don't have a promo demoing the mat zones, Ill be sure to mention it in the features list.

    Hope this helps.

Quick and dirty example of the male outfit below, standard school Uniform on the left, Almost a business suit on the right, (although it lacks the type of pockets you might expect)

Slightly better example, with upper pockets, badge and cuffs gone.
(note for Richard H) -The pants in the G2 male outfit will work pretty good with G2 Female, if you prefer to use them on her instead of the skirt :)

Not wanting to be super-critical (and probably too late anyway) but the jacket pockets look a bit too low and too small to me. I googled "school blazer" to check.

Yes, the two gray outfits next to each-other would do it. It is more visible then the black one as to what is different between them. The outfit dose look superb. Sold, and Thank you.

And Dogz, That statement was not just aimed explicitly at you. It is also a hint for all the times I've read something similar to, "My G2F/G2M outfit did not sell well, so I'm not doing them any more" from many PA's that have promos that don't show how versatile the thing could be.

Have you thought about doing a version of the pants as shorts? I don't know much about school uniforms, except for the cute redheaded girl (my first crush) that went to a catholic school that shared our public school bus system, or what I have seen in Pauline Baynes illustrations for The Chronicles of Narnia. I think the illustrations of Peter, Edmund, and Eustace in their school uniforms always had them wearing shorts though that might have been the style of the time. Just a few cents (approximately two) from the cheap seats. :-)

If someone is not paying you to work on another project, and you get to that item in you list, Please just give it a casual not-committed try, even if it morphs into another idea entirely mid project.

I don't ever recall reading somewhere that you would release a top-notch outfit every week for the rest of time, nor do I expect you to. Ideas happen, when they happen.

Good non-fantasy G2M outfits seam to be exceptional expensive, and rare. Matching G2F and G2M outfit styles are even more difficult to find.
    (EDIT)
Mr Gneiss Guy, brilliant! "O"! a Sir David Attenborough outfit! that would be cool.
It was If I remember correctly, a simple pare of safari style shorts, and a simple button down shirt. He didn't change the style throwout his shows, as he didn't want to be distracting the viewers from what he was talking about.
    (EDIT2)
In any case, the pants for the school outfit, do they have a belt-zone, or waist-zone different from the rest of the pants?

The male pants autofit to G2F well? :) :)

Oh man. You'd already sold me on both of these, but that's great news (as is the ability to turn off the crest/badge.) Not only could I do kids from my daughter's school, I can do my daughter and the (regrettably small handful) of other girls who think wearing skirts to school in a Chicago Winter is stupid. :)

    @ marble & Zar:
Shorts you want in there as well... humm Ok, deal :) its not alot of extra work to mod the long pants for this, so Ill do it.
Feel free to throw me picture of the style and how long, I'm thinking about 2 3rds / 3 quarters down the thigh with quite a loose fitting trim (maybe a morph to alter it too), You're right it would be useful for older styles.

    @Zar:
What do you mean by different belt zone? if you mean does it have a different mat zone, then yes both the belt band and belt loops will have their own mat zones.

@Marble, you may well be right, all though there are quite a few different styles. That ship has kinda sailed really, but i can provide a morph to lengthen the blazer a touch.
It might mess with some of the jackets movement morphs though, but its certainly no trouble to make one for the G2M version - the G2F version is wrapped up for now, so it will have to wait for an update after Christmas or something, :)

@WaterRat, they (pants) are not designed to work with G2F or anything, but they seem to auto fit well - just luck i guess. I think pants autofit between Figures quite well in general, only the belt /waist area seem to suffer/distort slightly.

Oh, yeah. The classic Angus Young outfit. Blazer and shorts. I think that may still be the school standard down in the antipodes.

Wow... Would it be possible to include a black material for the tie and optional trilby hat, for a Man In Black look (as per the figures who keep cropping up in UFO stories, not the movie series)? It looks eerily similar.

    http://www.santafeghostandhistorytours.com/images/mib_a1.jpg
    http://www.ufoevidence.org/topics/meninblack.htm

Also would be interested in seeing how that male version looks like when auto-fitted to G2F. A brown version could almost be a dead ringer for the photoshoot of Juliet Landau's version of Romana, from the recent 'Doctor Who' audio plays!

Only question would be which shoes would best suit it...

No biggie, Dogz. I guessed it would be too late. Funny how, at 60-plus years old, I still remember where my school jacket pockets were :)

Movement morphs are crucial and I wish more PA's would concentrate on those - especially for skirts and non-standing poses. They are the first thing I look for in the Features list.

Works for me, What I was thinking of was completely wrong. Sir David Attenborough wore khaki pants and a shirt with pocket flaps. Completely different from this outfit, never mind. Shorts of any kind will do, as maybe I was thinking of one of the other nature guys (Dr. Richard Smith, Nigel Marven, etc).

yea, that was what I could not think of the term for, thanks.

I was asking questions, and thinking out-loud. I was not intending to make suggestions for this product, besides, as you say, half is already wrapped up, good enough. Besides, it looks like the Jungle shorts come down to the worst spot, the knees.
(Pics are not mine, and are owned by there respective owners. I think the Nigel pic is from the "Chased by Dinosaurs" comedy)

That's good news on the trousers autofitting, thanks - though how often the girls of St Trinians wear them I don't know. The boys of St Custard's definitely wear shorts, though.

There isn't - Its DS only as I don't have a working version of poser to test and build the Materials, so good thing you checked, I've emailed Daz and asked them to correct it ASAP, And my apologies if you are a poser only user. If you already bought it, you should be entitled to a full refund.

It really must be Christmas. There have been so many wonderful items for the kids recently that's been tough keeping up! There's always room enough in the basket for one more though, and I snapped up the school outfit instantly. Aave even released a new gorgeous dress alongside a bunch of youth morph poses which simply HAD to go in the cart. So, naturally I had to find a way to get them both into the scene.

I had to do a little manual work getting the school crest onto the Preppy vest, and the colours don't quite match up. I think it came out rather well though, and I thank you Dogz for making the crests separate to the main texture. Makes it SO much easier to swap them around or even kitbash them with existing outfits. At least, until the actual boys outfits arrive. I trust the crests will remain consistent between the sexes?

Top notch work, I must say so a huge thanks for making this outfit and extra brownie points for having the wisdom to include morphs for the Zev0's Growing Up set.

Thanks for the kind works & render herald, yes it would have been criminal not support Youth morph for this one, I may also have to update it to include Slosh's girl shape too.
The crest will indeed be present on the male version. For the sake of consistency the All mats will match up with the female version. (even though I had to remake the textures again as the UV's had be changed significantly for the male shapes

I might do a sweater add-on with a built in (but hid-able) tie and shirt collar, will do it as one low cost product with both male and female versions included in the same package.
