I'm doing a peanut butter jelly swirl in today's shot list. Not sure how it's going to go, but got the lights and camera set up, and we'll find out.

Defintely will come in handy for those Evil Witch Houses.  If I can suggest, you might want to add some basics like steamed rice and some form of pasta, as well as separate shaders for bread and bread crust so that any primative could become a bakery item.

Oh my, yes. Pizza is a must, as is at least one kind of soup!

Definitely. And speaking of pasta, it's not done yet (still got to clean up the maps, and create the specularity and materials), but here's a sneak peek at the currently emerging "Spaghetti and Meatballs" shader:

There's also a plain spaghetti one I've only shot the diffuse map of, so that will be in the collection too.

I'd agree, but I didn't post the jello suggestion.  That was Summerhorse.

Will there be mac and cheese?  There's gotta be mac and cheese.  And no ketchup like in this one https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/food/miscellaneous/macaroni-and-cheese

That doesn't look like any mac and cheese I've ever seen. I'm positive Those Things can do much better than that.

I hate to ask, but how about tripe. I washed it for my grandmother 50 years ago, and the memory still makes me shudder.

And if you are doing ketchup, are you doing beans in ketchup: also horseradish and tartare sauce.

Oh, my, yes. Pretty much every scrap of it.

Mac and cheese are definitely on the list. I'm limited to displacement and normal maps to pull off the effects, though, so we'll see how well I can convey the look of round macaroni.

I think all the major condiments will be represented, but I'm not sure yet. Love the beans idea though...

That's so great to hear! These are the first shaders I've ever made for the Daz marketplace, so I want them to be perfect.

This is a really great idea!  I so often find I need food for a render, but I'm really limited by what I can find.  If I could just put a primitive in a bowl and slap a shader on it, that would be very helpful!

I would be most interested in food that could be from many different time periods - soups, stews, noodles, porridge, veggies (green beans, peas, chopped carrots), things like that.

Wunnerful! I wish you could rope in @maclean to do some props to release concurrently.

While you are at it, dog food/cat food/other pets?

And food remains to put on plates/bowls: gravy stains etc. Really mess up that kitchen.

And perhaps some shapes to put mess on a kitchen surface with a translucent background. Bit beyond shaders, but not very different from tiling. In my kitchen I don't get regualr mess: but a dusting of coffee grounds, some blobs of olive oil. That's before I drop something.

  • These all look amazing. Thank you for making what will be an insanely useful shader. In general we don't get that many food props.

Can I make a suggestion of including a couple of primitive shapes with the product? That way you can apply the shader to make cookies, a plate of spaghetti (sans plate), etc.

This is an insta-buy for me too.

Cat food and dog food? I'll add them to the list!

I agree.  Some of those bulwags are just disturbing to look at...but then others are kind of cute.
