I was just trying out some new-to-me products - mostly Solar Vagabond - and I thought I might as well make a proper render of it. Especially since I kinda almost accidentally dialled up quite the hunk!

Is it time for another horny render? Why yes, it's always time for horny renders!

I've been in a spending mood and have bought so much stuff this last month or so. But I'm really happy because it's all really nice stuff!

So, here's Nefer pretty much out of the box. She is gorgeous. And since we're all doing Egyptian... wait, we've already moved on to Vikings? Oh man. I've... done an Egyptian render... *hangs head*

I've tried this thing where I combined an outdoor and an indoor HDRI in Photoshop. It's ok for a first try... but now it looks like the light from outside is warmer than the light from inside, which is not normally how it should be.

Hah. I'll have to take note of this. I had an image I was working on and debating posting that is..... possibly worse than this. All the naked bits are covered, strategically, by the limbs of other figures in the scene. But it is definitely apparent that the figures are naked in scene, just carefully posed to miss their nudity. I'm not normally one for pushing rules, but i was under the impression that so long as it was covered, it was fine. I'm relatively new, though, and with me not posting many renders that push the rules this way, I'm sure it's taken me longer to get a sense of the overall forum culture where implied/close to nudity is concerned.

The lighting on that is amazing! And the posing is really natural. Such a great lifestyle image. (Back in the day, when I was doing image for fashion/advertising, that's what we called this: you're selling the feel of the thing as aspirational, not because the clothes are so luxurious, or the people are so sexy, but purely because the images tell a narrative of a way of living that appeals to people. The expansive landscape, the sun-drenched atmosphere, the candid posing.... obviously she's not seriously hiking or working in those sandals, but they work well to tell a story of her in relaxation where sneakers with socks would not. It's a stylized interpretation of reality that works really really well because of the flare of lighting on her arm, and the way it interacts with the landscape, and makes her clothes seem casually romantic, rather than plain, as they might in other lighting or sets.

My understanding is that visually obscuring the offending bits with strategic posing is acceptable on the forum.

The first version of this image was taken down for showing too much crack. I moved his left arm slightly to cover the crack and the image was accepted.

Nice render. Everytime I see that dress in the store I think it's the strangest thing I've ever seen and yet when I see it in renders like this it makes me want to buy it. lol. I like what you did with the shackles in the bottom of the dress.

It feels weird trying to catch up on everyone's threads and not see any pictures with the gallery being down. Broken links abound. I hope that's fixed soon.

I'm very happy to have discovered 3DPoetry who has several amazing freebies over at Renderosity. I downloaded two V7 skins, one V4 skin, and an amazing braided hair piece. I tweaked the V7 skin settings extensively and the V4 skin of course needed converting to IRAY, but the maps are rock solid and that's what ultimately really matters. The above skin is Dragania for V7 and the RavenCrow hair piece.
