Anyone know where I can find some really nice high tech electronics repair tools? I'm talking the type for really fine detail repairs of small circuitry, such as in cybernetics and computers, not cars and trucks. Neither ShareCG nor Renderosity's freebie sections had anything, at least not using any search key words I could think of.
So I found you this. I know you don't like to convert stuff but I have listed them just in case you change your mind:
Voltmeter (Poser)
http://lab108.x0.com/lab108/electrical.html 3rd one down.
Also you could use the meter make it a grey box add the usb cable on this same page and attach to a of the computer and slap an oscilloscope screen image on the monitor. My husband has one of these O scope applications for his computer. He says it is not as good as the real thing but not bad.
Needle nose pliers (lightwave format can be converted with Poseray)
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/needle-nose-pliers-3d-model/137083
Alligator clip (3ds format can be converted with Poseray)
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/free-alligator-3d-model/566230
Soldering gun (This is a possible option you would have to modify the bit) (3ds format can be converted with Poseray)
http://archive3d.net/?a=download&id=da0314c2
forceps and syringe (3ds format can be converted with Poseray)
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/medical-tools-3ds-free/730261
Cable (11th down) (Poser)
http://www.most-digital-creations.com/free_poser_poses_textures_morphs_props_33.htm
I already have the cable. The meter will come in handy, but the rest is useless. Thanks though.
Tubosquid will convert their models to obj format for free. That might help.
Looking for Victorian stuff, generally.

That should get you started, at least.
Not sure what kind of stuff. Perhaps this will be useful?
SAMS3D gramaphone: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=67390
Everyday furniture type stuff, like the gramaphone and the stuff from Ness. Cheers for giving me a start, guys.
Has anybody seen an IV drip bag, or something that could substitute? (like what you would see a hospital patient wheeling around with them because the tube is attached to their arm.) I found the metal stand, and I have tubes I could use, but no bag.
(looking for poser/DS format with commercial renders allowed.)
@SteveM17, for more Victorian stuff, go to the Renderosity freestuff section and type in "victorian" for a search, that will give you a bunch more. You can then go to the left menu and limit it to certain subcategories and content types, for example you could limit the search to this:
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?search=victorian&bq=category:'Poser'&expression=freestuff_name&facet=category
One here on Share but only in Poser format I think
http://www.sharecg.com/v/56364/browse/11/Poser/3Dmans-IV-Bag
Perfect, thanks!
I need to sit down and figure out exactly what I'm doing wrong with my ShareCG searches. For some reason I have trouble locating some stuff there sometimes, even when I think I've selected all the appropriate options, I don't get exactly the results I expect. I suspect I'm misunderstanding some aspect of how it works, or looking in the wrong category, or forgetting to check a box. A project for the weekend.
Sixus1Media also has one on a wheelie stand:

Perfect, thanks!

Sean, one of the things I have found out about Sharecg and the search function is that if I use the categories and the find window on the left hand side of the page I don't usually get good results. If I use the find box in the upper right hand corner I get a much better selection of things that might be of use in my quest for that certain freebie. This is what I got just by typing in IV
http://www10.sharecg.com/search/index.php?q=IV&button;.x=0&button;.y=0
As you can see both of the IV bags came up in the top 15 selections. I usually change the number of hits to 50 just to get through the pages faster. This version of the search looks at titles, descriptions and comments. Sure sometimes you get a huge amount of hits, like for common things like V4, but if you look at the last line above "Displaying documents 1-15 of total 104 found." You can see how many hits you have for each "word" you typed into the search window. A word to sharecg is separated by spaces. So if I had typed in IV Bag, the search engine would have come back with loads more options. So here is the results for IV Bag
http://www10.sharecg.com/search/index.php?ps=15&q=IV+Bag&ps=15&m=any&wm=wrd
As you can see IV has 240 hits and bag comes back with 351 hits. But the first item is the bag that Wilmap gave you and the one Eustace directed you to is not even in the first page. It slipped to number 18.
You can also find a specific freebie using this search. If you have the zip name of the file you can put it in the search box and it will come back with that freebie. Unless of coarse the user has changed the zip file name.
I use the left hand side search more for trolling. Say, I want to see what kinds of dynamic clothing is out there then I would go to the Poser tab and type in dynamic and then narrow my search though the different options. This search is better for looking at general categories then for more specific items. You are dealing with humans and bless their hearts they all categorize and describe the same objects differently.
So the left hand side search option only looks at what a user has said their product is where as the upper right corner search is just a plain 'ol string comparison on certain fields in the database. Hope this helps. Happy hunting.
@Eustace Scrubb, thanks for the second option.
@DollyGirl, thanks for the tips.
I am looking for a Louis XIV-like hairstyle freebie... or even commercial product, if it exists.
For reference, here is Louis XIV:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5f/Louis_XIV_of_France.jpg/422px-Louis_XIV_of_France.jpg
A less magnificent one would do, such as what the courtesans were wearing.
The closest I've been able to find was theses two things:
Versailles Tail, from Daz store:
http://www.daz3d.com/versailles-tail
18th century wig freebie from Varsel, but it is a lackey wig, not a courtesan one (at least for the 17th century):
http://www.sharecg.com/v/36478/gallery/11/Poser/18.th-century-Wig
Does anyone know where I can find Crusader type clothing. I need to make a St George and the Dragon image, but can't find anything suitable.
Free preferably but bought items will also be considered.
Paid for you could use Valiant for M4 ($1.99 if you sre a PC member) and retexture it. I did a knight of St John's type texture (Page 6 of my site)
Oh thanks Chohole. I have that item, but never thought to retexture it.
I will take a look at your textures now.
The 3dSC Medieval project site has a very nice free suit or armor for Michael 3. http://www.jalberts.net/francemi/3dSC/medieval.htm
If you can work with M3 clothes - there is Lourdes' free outfit and textures for it at sharecg
http://www.sharecg.com/b/11/Poser/?keywords=lourdes&member;_type[All]=on&attribute;[2449][-1]=1&attribute;[2577][-1]=1&attribute;[2439][-1]=1&tdm=a&s=dd
Is there a list somewhere of free, full characters(including textures) for V4?
There's one on the FaerieWylde forum - you have to be a member and logged in to get to the thread, though.

Unfortunately the V4 llist is not accessible at the moment, as it is on the old forum archive :shut:

Thanks Kerya, they look good.

Thanks! :)
Looking for one of those wooden, basic figures that artists pose and use to draw from.
ShareCG has one here, though you'll have to rig it yourself. It's just a static model.
That's what I was looking for, but sadly I don't know how to rig it, and I don't think the version of DS I use has that function anyway. Drat!
Do you happen to have Poser? or the PoserDebut that was free for a day or two?

Nope, I just have DS 4.0
