I saw this was live and was so happy!  And, my favorite promo pic made it into the top slot!  Yes!  Nice work, Cath.  I can't wait to play with this.  Considering how much I use the first pack, I imagine this one will get a lot of use, too.  I'm upgrading to DS 4.9 today so, at least, my computer is busy while I wait for it to become available in my runtime.  Any guesses as to what product I'll be using in my first test renders?

I feel like a child in christmaslaughWaiting the moment when I can open my present.........heart and also waiting free time to play with Shaders! Sadly I am very busy at the moment, but maybe I can try a little bit.

(" skin shaders also but before that another 2 packs will be released Merchant Resource Pure Metals and PBS Woods vol.3  for April and after that for May PBS Real Eyes , morphs, shaders etc.. for both  Gen3 and after skins shaders ")

Yes! I need : Real Eyes , morphs, shaders etc.. for both Gen3 and after skins shaders
    and .....

You, if any, can create shaders like Silk Velvet (two-color play), Cotton Velvet, different Mosses, rag paper, transparent leaves and transparent fabrics "like the air"?
Maybe some day, maybe next year...but these are what I am dreaming of and beautifull feathers?!

Have a wonderful moments for your life at the moment and for the future

Bouncing in my seat waiting on these. :)  Now I want to learn enough about PBR materials to know where to break rules to get the best effect in making fantasy materials like Mithril, Vibranium, Soulsteel...

I did some fantasy type metals using caths metal shaders as a base, and then essentially just changing the specular color. From top to bottom it is Mythril, Adamantite, and Orichalcum. Although orichalcum is supposed to be a real metal apparently.

Thank you Maaritti , for this kind of fabric it deserve own volume , I had a lot of requests for specific fabrics that are not easy to replicate and request a lot of patience in making , the year is long .. who knows what will still come on the way after the planned volumes .. a lot of work but all is possible !  I hope you enjoy vol.2 until next releases .

Have a beautiful rest of the day

    heart & enlightened

Beautiful work Sorel as usual  the last one looks like Fool's Gold from my Pure Metal vol  the best is to start the base with silver for most bright fantasy metals and Iron or Steel for darker one leaving the rest intact and playing just with specular color and glossy since only metal and metalic surfaces can have color specular , in PBR everything else have only gray scale specular  .

Very cool!  If I can manage similar, then the only ones likely to be troublesome are Soulsteel with it's tortured faces in the surface of the metal, though I think a good normal map can help there, and Starmetal with the way it's supposed to have a starry sky in the reflection...

    Congrats on the release Cath!!

I cannot wait to get my hands on this.

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

Yes of course it is possible but when you apply it to the surface the model need to be rope or you get seams on the UVs unless the seams are hidden , you can do seamless rope base  shader but the the UVs seams need to be hidden on the model  unless you want to have just imitation of it so you can apply to a cylinder

    @MEC4D
This was an instant buy for me... (As I know the PBR Skins shader will be)

*Also I was reading in another thread,  what you have been dealing with your Sister.
Sorry to hear about that and thank you for your continued work on great products!

I can hardly wait to get my mitts on my prize either, Cath, but I know it will be worth the wait. What's starting to bother me more is that you don't seem to have gone to bed at all in the last day or so. Hopefully I'm mistaken - we can't be doing with you keeling over with exhaustion!

LOL, well I am glad that the release is done so th skin shaders will get finished but maybe that makes more support requests instead.

And what does the UI look like? Is it select surface group and then select wanted Mec4D material preset? Or something fancier?

<sigh> - it was an instant buy. That first promo picture would have sealed the deal even if I hadn't been following this thread; I mean, food that looks like food and not plastic! But I forsee a number of l-o-n-g days ahead, retexturing half the props in my library. :-)

This is gonna be so fun to play with. Retexturing old scenes and giving them a whole new look!

Hello, I tried to quickly browse the first 15 pages but couldn't find any infos on the sand shaders, would it be possible to learn more about it ? That's the n°1 thing I'm looking for, in term of shaders, as I can't get the look I want on an of the beach scenes/props i've got.

Snagged this as soon as I saw it this morning.  Was so happy it was finally available!

    I sense another Exalted player!

In my group, we have collectively agreed that starmetal is an ugly gray color until light hits it, and then the reflections are all rainbow.

Oh, there's no question it's worth the wait... but I think it's harder to wait for it to show up in the library than it was to wait for it to be released! lol

It will be done but before that I have 3 release to finish and is still totally work in progress , there is just shaders as usual  , your select your surfaces and apply or apply at once
