I thought about that long and hard.. thing is.. I have grabbed LOTS of texture packages in the past ... waiting ... for the originals and they just end up taking space in my runtime.  So I think I'll pass.  I don't really NEED the outfits anyway.  If I rendered every day for the next 10 years I'd still have stuff I didn't use.  LOL

I've had a set of textures in my library forever (okay, I have many such textures), and today the outfit popped up in LD for a buck. So, that will be fun! I'd just say, need is not always the most powerful driver for buying stuff in the Daz store. It also seems that unnecessary stuff has a way of becoming unexpectedly useful. smiley

Happy New Years Eve everyone! The PA gifts have ended, but will be available ALL DAY LONG. But at this moment, they are not working correctly and have been reported in the Reporting Only thread. Hopefully it's fixed soon and you get the chance to grab what you missed.

Edit: It's fixed. All PA GIFTS ARE AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD ALL DAY LONG!

Last batch of gifts in use.

I didn't try my ability to do animation, as others.

Missed the gnome, too busy with family and didn't realize the new sale had started. Hopefully there will be a catch-up.

If you missed the gnome, you can pick it up today.

I just wanted to say thanks to the PAs for the neat holiday freebies... I missed most of them this year and have no idea which ones I actually did get, but they all seem pretty cool, so happy Santafestmas and a Happy New Orbital Cycle to all!

Today is your lucky day. They are all available.

It was that time of the year where all the gifts gathered to celebrate the event.
Some had a longer travel, but all got there.
Thank you for all the gifts.
After a hopefull good Christmas, I will wish you a Happy New Year.

Thanks, I have another image rendering, with the last texture set gift. Luckily I own the dress, although I don't remember buying it.

    Indiscriminate Photobomber

Richard is an indiscriminate photobomber - anyone, any place, any time. He loves the attention. Some people even enjoy his cute intrusions.

Perhaps they are now incorporating Van de Graaff generators.

Thanks, Robert. I attempted to make your Tesla Coil reflected in the Van de Graaf sphere, but it is hard to recognize it as that. A for effort, C- for execution!

I think someone is going to find that an angry cat can be a van de grief generator.

For the Van de Graaff, I used a primitive cylinder and sphere with metal shader, on top of a prop from the Mad Science Laboratory product (with some polygons removed with Geometry Editor). For the Tesla Coil, I used another Mad Science Laboratory prop and the Mad Science Laboratory electric pulses.

Edited to link and fix name of product used.

I'm honestly not sure where December went. I had plans to make some renders with all this year's lovely freebies (Thank You PA's for your generosity again!) But I got no further than a single scene subset in a woefully incomplete state. Ah well, I will definitely be using some or all of them during the coming year.

Thank you for the entertainment to all the people who have managed to post renders - with a special mention to @barbult for the continuing saga of Richard, Lola et al!

    Happy New Year to All.

    Fixing Funny Feeling Fur

I couldn't leave poor Richard wiith funny feeling fur. I took him back to the salon for a deep conditioning and brush out.

Hairdresser:  We're making progress. Soon we'll have your funny feeling feline fur, finally feeling fine. (Hopefully not Daz Soon.)

I finally got them! I am not sure who clued me in they were doing the older gifts again today, but I finally got Lully's Colors today. Thank you all so much. They are lovely.

After a week and a half of the flu, especially bad on Christmas, these gifts and everyones renders have cheered me up a lot.

    Mary

Sick over the holidays is the worst. I hope you're on the upswing and can enjoy New Year's, at least...

Question about the Lully's Colors for anyone with the bandwith to explain... the description says it's partial shaders for Diffuse Color and Metallic Flakes. I think I understand what the Metallic Flakes shader would do, but what does the Diffuse Color shader do? How is it different from a regular shader?

I sets the shader to Iray Uber and changes the Base Color numeric value. If you are trying to use it with FilaToon (or probably PBR Skin), it is very annoying that it changes the shader to Iray Uber. If your surface is already set to Iray Uber, then it works OK.

The misunderstanding around shaders and shader presets often causes confusion. These are presets for the iray Uber shader so of course they change the surfaces to that shader.

Poker Party - I'm an Excellent Card Player

The holidays are over. All petty grievances have been forgiven. Richard's fur is feeling fine. Jack's Christmas card was a hit. The food was delicious and the gifts were fabulous. The gang got together for a poker party before everyone had to go back to mundane activities. barbult is dealing. She has the advantage of being able to fly to whoever needs a card next.

    Rob: I fold
    Lola: I got nothin'...again.
Richard: I'm an excellent card player! I'll raise. So Jack, what are you going to do?
Jack: I'm thinking; don't rush me. You are probably bluffing...
