    Water - Oh No!

After the throne incident, Richard is afraid of all water sources.

    Video (does this work??)

    Gift used:
December 28 2024: Dreamlight gifting Video Backgrounds - Beach Sunset - Clip 01

It works great. Hopefully I can link to it. I was wondering how someone would use that. No fish or fishbone washing ashore, lying on the sand like a turkey drumstick? ? No huge tuna about to eat Richard. Or better still a shark lol.

Edit: I'll link it once the live link to the product is dead. Probably after 11 tonight my time.

Thanks for confirming that the link works. As you can see, I am not an accomplished animator. Richard's movements look far from believable, but at least I did use the gift!

I also was able to link it on page one. I le'rnt sumtim taday!

I want to share my heartfelt thanks to all the PAs through the years who have so graciously donated such amazing gifts. It is truly amazing the number of outstanding products you have given us.

This render uses over 60 different past/present DAZ PA gifts...some are a little harder to identify (for a full list of what I used, see my entry in KindredArts A Curious Christmas freebie challenge). Needless to say, my computer wasn't thrilled with my insanity.

Yes this is an insane render! Wow! I know you have done a truckload of work and listing @ 60 PA's would be really really time consuming, but how else will they feel your love? Crazy good!

Edit: Ignore the list the PA part, I see you did list them in the contest.

The holiday item of today is really really cool and generous for the price I think, it's a lovely winter scene by Polish: https://www.daz3d.com/frozen-lake-cabin.

Edit: Zip file size is almost 2 GB though, something to keep in mind maybe.

Here's a link to the four hour freebie. '

A few minutes go it was showing 7 different gifts (all owned). Now, for me it's showing these 7 (I also own)  Useful if one owns these gifts but needs a screenshot.

See Richards Post for explanation of 4 Hour Freebies (PA Gifts).

I think these are cycling through the previous freebies for those who missed out, a different one every four hours (in theory, and that link is certainly now dead).

My movements are frequently far from believeable, hence (in part) the typos.

It sounds like I should be relieved it's you and not ArtAngel chronicling my (mis)adventures.

    People Watching

Rob and Richard were out relaxing and people watching after work, when a distracted Lianna came down the path in her new pink flowered dress. It looks like she is about to trip over Rob's big feet. Richard is  excited to see what happens. Maybe he will meow loudly to get her attention and save her in the nick of time. Or maybe he'll just watch it all unfold.

I was grateful for the reruns for exactly that reason... I'd been diligently printing to pdf every day and copy-pasting the grpahics into .doc files for future reference... except for two that fell victim to a hectic day. Have 'em now!

I have every gift that was given for this year and those 2 were not one's offered yet, they are band new offers, though I think that tree was very limited as it showed only 1 hour remaining after I posted it. It is possible a mistake was made with the tree.

I thought Daz was going to give the final gift for Christmas Day, but they are still giving out new one's, so I think that dress is new for today only.

3D Universe's Grumpy Santa is delightful! Thank you for the great freebie! And his awesome Noodle the Toon Cat is demanding some attention! I managed to also fit in A Cozy Christmas and My Christmas Centerpiece both by @Muscleman , Candy Dish Snowman by MikeD, FPE Candy Cane by FenixPhoenix and Esid, and one of last year's gifts, Christmas Micro Scene by 3DStyle. Thank you all for the wonderful Christmas gifts! I just wish I had the time to render ALL the PA Christmas gifts!

    I LOVE this!!!

If you are a Daz+ or Premier member, you can go back in time to learn how Richard and Lola met in jail, and the many other things that Richard is excellent at (just ask him). These were Daz+ Inspiration Contest entries. You have to scroll all the entries to find the continuing story images. It all starts with Jack and Richard taking a road trip after a rather harrowing adventure with a multi-tenticaled "specimen". But that is another story in some other place.

    Daz+ Inspiration Contest - September 12, 2023 - September 26, 2023
    Daz+ Inspiration Contest - September 19, 2023 - October 03, 2023

A dress I don't own :(  Just like a few days ago... an outfit I don't own.  Plus missed out on a few Holiday Freebie Deals cause I don't own the required item.  (sighs)

You can still pick up the textures now,  and who knows, the outfits and dresses may be made available at a later date.

I finally got them! I am not sure who clued me in they were doing the older gifts again today, but I finally got Lully's Colors today. Thank you all so much. They are lovely.

After a week and a half of the flu, especially bad on Christmas, these gifts and everyones renders have cheered me up a lot.

I agree and grabbed both texture sets for that reason. Also dropped the outfits in my WL

I thought about that long and hard.. thing is.. I have grabbed LOTS of texture packages in the past ... waiting ... for the originals and they just end up taking space in my runtime.  So I think I'll pass.  I don't really NEED the outfits anyway.  If I rendered every day for the next 10 years I'd still have stuff I didn't use.  LOL

You don't have to install the textures in your runtime until you get the garment (if ever).

Oh Mary, I hope you're on the mend and feel better soon!
  • Thank you PA's for your lovely Holiday gifts. heart And thanks to everyone for all your fantastic renders! I always enjoy the yearly thread of holiday gifts and renders. smiley

After the general December madness and an exhausting bout of covid, I was super happy to fire up DS today and just render something pretty. I plopped in today's "InStyle - dForce Tres Classy Outfit for Genesis 9 Texture Add-On" freebie from Valkyrie (thank you!), since I already had the chic little outfit by Nikisatez.

Sick over the holidays is the worst. I hope you're on the upswing and can enjoy New Year's, at least...

Question about the Lully's Colors for anyone with the bandwith to explain... the description says it's partial shaders for Diffuse Color and Metallic Flakes. I think I understand what the Metallic Flakes shader would do, but what does the Diffuse Color shader do? How is it different from a regular shader?

I sets the shader to Iray Uber and changes the Base Color numeric value. If you are trying to use it with FilaToon (or probably PBR Skin), it is very annoying that it changes the shader to Iray Uber. If your surface is already set to Iray Uber, then it works OK.

I'll join the others who have raved about your render. I can recognize that it was a monumental effort. You really made all these gifts, from this year and the past, shine! This qualifies for Best of the Best.
