That is a very generous discount and coupon, thank you Richard and DAZ. I am absolutely keeping them and might be the only one in these discussions that was very pleased with this release.
** actually there might be an issue with the code, the description says it is good until Sunday, but the expiration date appears to be tomorrow. Oh and has the store credit been applied? Not showing up here yet. Anyway, still very thankful. :) **
As someone inside the USA, this release was in very poor taste. Seriously disgusting.
I don't know what happened, but Daz has now released three core characters that are in bad taste. Today's two and Joshua. I might not be religious, but releasing a character like Joshua in general is highly fraught with issues, nevermind one released during a holy day with blood material packs and such.
As others have said, if you don't want these topics discussed, don't make them into flagship products.

I was shocked at these new figures and really didn't want to look at them, especially the swim trunk one. Yikes.
But the modeling is good, getting a good resemblance to both and the hair is great! I can't say that I am actually offended, this being our present reality in the US. With the generous discounts, I couldn't resist. Like SnowSultan I like the release. I will try to make something I can post here that won't be removed. Challenging. 
Yes, and people can always put on different hair or turn dials and combine the textures and/or morphs to make different characters. I made an Obama a few years ago using Edward 8's texture as a base. Just like nothing said that Victoria has to be deaf or Michael can only be rendered in a wheelchair, these figures do not absolutely need to be used either as their real-life counterparts, or in any sort of political situation. Be creative, people, we're artists. :)
I of course will certainly be creating images with these characters that I cannot post here, but that is what deviantArt is for. ;)

that said.. I too do like the founder's outfit as I really love collecting period pieces. The bobbleheads are funny.. maybie I could transform any character to bobblehead for the 3D van dashboard 
.. or is there a "transform any character to bobblehead" for gen 8, 9 item I could buy.
..also, where can I buy the waterguns shown in the promo?
It would have been nice if Daz had chosen to err on the side of caution when these products were submitted for approval.

Surprised no one has actually done a Kamala figure yet for Genesis 9 or 8.
I'd be interested to see how an official Kamala would actually turn out.

I am very political, post on socials all the time and volunteer to help campaign when I can. I already did likenesses of both for G8 with facegen, so i really have no use for these, but love some of the other assets. I personally don't have any issues with DAZ releasing these and don't think it is in poor taste.
In 2008, GWB would have been the outgoing president, while Obama and Hillary were vying for the Democratic nomination and McCain was the Republican candidate. I don't remember Jeb doing much of anything at the time.

My mornings and sometimes into the early afternoons are pretty much taken up with what I refer to as being a "concerned citizen". Eventually it gets to the point I need to "change the channel" so to say to something completely unrelated that is enjoyable and creative to avoid becoming too irate or depressed.
...when I first saw this hair product in the store (Fashion Bob for Genesis 3 & 8), the image reminded me of a younger version of her. The character used is Alexandra 8 and with the correct hair and a bit of "ageing" she could work.
The bundle is a lot less attractive to me now that the figures have editorial licenses, especially considering the post above pointing out that the buttons on the Founding Fathers outfit are baked into the texture. The Presidential outfit shirt has wrinkles baked into the texture, I have no use for or interest in the Superhero outfit, I don't like either hair....on further examination, there's practically nothing in the bundle for me. Old Joey hair might be useful to me if I can convert it to SBH, and I'd be curious to see what either or both of the bobblehead shapes look like without their corresponding figure.
I've just removed my auto-renew on DAZ plus. To be fair, it wasn't entirely this but more a culmination of the direction the store is headed in general (editorial content, etc), plus I haven't been using DAZ as much lately.
I did also unfollow and mute DAZ on Instagram but that's entirely because of these new releases. I have finally gotten my Instagram to the point where it's just art, books, and non stressful things. I don't want to have reminders of the upcoming election sprung on me by anyone, but especially not DAZ.

One of the reasons for my curiosity with a potential Kammie 9 figure is to see how toned they would end up doing the figures body. Some of the circulated AI images currently online seem to have Kamala having defined obliques but distorted male looking faces. AI image generation seems like it has some work to do still to produce consistently accurate faces.
Technology can't help but inherit its creators' biases.

Without that, we potentially had older male figures whose morphs and skins could be mixed (at least to some degree) with other characters without being any kind of legal issue.
With that... well, I still don't know. I've been asking for clarification on the Editorial Licence for ages, such as why the editorial terms only appear under the Three Dimensional Works section of the licence (which normally only pertains to the development of compatible products. Which, with characters being marketed as Core shapes, is actually potentially significant, but I still believe the intention is that the clauses shoud also be implemented to affect the Two Dimensional Works section of the licence).
Assuming that the intent is actually to restrict two dimensional works (which currently do not seem to be as far as the licence is worded), then this licence now makes the characters relatively useless other than as themselves, and probably more politically charged.
Given we've had other G9 core characters who are obviously based on real world individuals, but are non-editorial despite having a lesser political status that provides less protection of parody and comment to artists, I'm not sure I understand the logic of why these characters got restricted.
The editorial licence has no terms restricting political use (if anything, the mention of Fair Use indeed opens up the freedom of commentary) nor that restrict community usage (which is already governed by a separate terms of service).
so products that don't have the editorial license can get hit with it later on as many feared. funny thing about this thread I went to post a comment earlier on when started nothing negative but few suggested other characters even Rubbery Figures type versions funny show from the UK btw and I was gonna suggest Musk and Zuckerburg would make a good pair Z wanted to fight M in a cage match btw, but weird thing happened while typing big huge box appeared across page tried refreshing only to find the tread was locked reason said for obvious reasons and now thread is unlocked kinda suprised not relocked again
every new released character now is based on the genesis 9 base with very few exceptions mostly those migrated from other store/s but other than that every new character released you'll need g9 essentials at least luckily it's free and you should have it unless your using an old version of Daz Studio still
She wasn't asking about G9 Essentials, but the Essentials Expansion, the requirement of which implies some things I'm not thrilled about.
It'll really be like that. I might not buy it, but I can imagine putting these two gentlemen in in isekai scenario.

Presumably there were some launch-day promotions, and according to Daz Deals it's been as low as $7.56 in the last month.
