Oh are these two going to be fun for me.
Is it me or the faces seems really too small for their heads on some renders?
..ach mein Gott!
What has been seen cannot be unseen
That image of the watergun fight will haunt my dreams all night.
Can we get Angela Merkel next?
Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg (only instead of a bobblehead as extra, a Spitting Image version). Instabuy!
How in the devil do these not have editorial licences? I can only see bad things coming from this.....
... with the hand pose then, of course ...
Ronnie Reagan would have the best satirical impact ever. Bouns for classic Spitting Image morphs instead of bobblehead.
For obvious reasons this thread is being temporarily locked. After discussion, we trimmed up the thread of posts that were a bit to political and Richard made an announcment in regards to this release here. Thread is now reopened.
Seems to me tf you all don't want politics on the forum you wouldn't put politicians in the store.
Ok, can we even post images made with these bundles here, on Daz Forum?
The idea of such bundles is very nice, but I hardly see any real usage of them.
I mostly collect the items from Daz 3D shop, that at least I can post images on Daz forums.
...Well, the Founding Fathers outfit is nice.
Agreed
Even some of the promo images such as the main promo for the Presidents Pro Bundle seem to be a bit poltical to me. It will be hard to use a lot of the bundle without being political so that the images can be used on the forums and in the gallery.
"And that was the day that that other site, the one whose name begins with 'R' and ends with '-otica', became really disturbing ..."
After walking away for a few minutes, I wanted to come back and say this:
I appreciate the work on the part of the artists that went into the products in these bundles, and they truly are striking likenesses.
That said... I am someone who almost always buys the pro bundle, because there's usually at least a couple of hair products or something I want even in things like anime supersoldier bundles that I'm not entirely interested in that makes the price of the bundle worth downloading and not installing a bunch of things I'm probably never going to use.
Today is one of those rare "not buying the bundle whatsoever" days. Literally the Founding Fathers outfit and maybe the superhero suit is all I'm buying, both because I don't do a lot of modern renders and because I have such astronimcally low interest in doing political renders that I'm honestly kind of depressed that US politics is showing up in such a large way here - and political renders are all the characters in this bundle are good for.
I find myself disappointed in Daz for putting this out. With a steady firehose of politics everywhere else, we have to have it here too, and because of a bundle that's utterly lackluster if you don't want the characters and immediately caused a thread that had to be locked and scrubbed? I mean, it's a choice, y'all, but not one I'm interested in.
How is this release NOT political??? I'm done here. Cancelled my Daz+ membership and you most likely lost a longtime customer.
Kafka would be proud. It's impossible to post renders of the characters under these terms.
Appropriately, neither of the characters look real. And there's only one blended render; so, you can't even see how effectively you can mix the geezers with other characters. Over and out.
Not going to lie, when I opened the message I thought it was a phishing mail. It's very unusual for Daz to create this type of content, but I really don't mind it.
Characters look good, but their skin has that unnatural, almost wax feel to them. Probably fixable my fiddling with the SSS settings.
Daz has started allowing nude promo images, and has always 9as dfined in the ToS) sold nude figures. Their site, they can choose to offer content that has restricted use on the forums or in the galleries.
It's not the first time in DAZ/Poserland that there are political figures. Back in 2008 Content Paradise released "Obama", "Hillary", "Bush" and "McCain". Here are two of them. :)
I'm very disappointed to see this stuff here on Daz, which has been one of the few places safe from all the insanity that's impossible to avoid almost anywhere else, online or real world. Now it's here.
I've been feeling less and less interested in DAZ's new releases. I don't want editorial content or products that should be editorial. I really don't want political content.
With all the sort fandom, editorial-esque content that's been releasing lately, I feel like I can't trust that new products would be safe to use in a commerical context. With so much stuff going unmarked as editorial I don't trust myself to recognize when something is referencing media or a real person.
Not thrilled with these bundles. Some of us are pretty stressed out with the politics going on so seeing these bundles here was like a slap in the face. They don't even look right - Joey's face is bizarrely shrunken while Donnie's face was made slimmer and younger. There are some other choices in the packages that make me go, "Huh ...." Then again, with everything going on, every part of that package is going to feel like a subtle or not-so-subtle message about one side or the other. It'll probably make DAZ a chunk of change, which is ultimately what they're here for, but for me it's in the same squicky category as the Fan Art Editorial Licence items.
To be fair, the Founding Fathers Outfit is nice. I'll probably pick that up because it can work in multiple genres - Starship Captains do NOT need to squeeze themselves into spandex onsies. The rest, well I finally found a use for the "Hide this listing" button. Too bad I can't do that for the page ads.
Yeah, I was also disappointed to see the releases today. I won't be buying any of that, that's for sure.
