Sorry for spamming, but I just found out the mini bots won me second place in Novica's "Because I said so" contest for November! So I want to give a big thank you to AntFarm for making them and my reward will be spent in your store. I'm looking forward to what you come up with in the future. yes

More than that, they also featured in DAZ 3D top images video for November. http://www.daz3d.com/editors-choice-november-2015

Indeed! Both my render and Ippotamus' "Mutual" was in there. I can only hope the attention they've been given has been reflected in the sales too.

isidorn Congrats! Credit goes all to you for the great art. I see Daz gave the Heavy Mech some love in the email ad so maybe they might be getting better, thanks to everyones support here!

I was saving to buy Mini-bots but grabbed the Heavy Mech as soon as I saw the ad (and maybe send Aunt Mildred a card instead of a toaster this year). Mini's will have to wait, but not too long :)

I can't compete with the quality of that render, but I had to do this.

You don't need two weapons if the one you have is big enough.

  • Nice one, Isidorn!!!

  • I just purchased this, and can't wait to use it... But I'm having a problem! Whenever I load the model's Iray materials, and try to render with Iray, DAZ crashes. I've tried multiple times, reset, etc.

The base model with no material applied will render in Iray just fine, but once I add the Iray material, it all goes haywire. Any ideas?

It's most likely the bug that causes DAZ to crash with some models when using CPU to render. If you have the possibility (i.e. have the nvidia hardware) render using your graphics card only and I'm farily sure it will work. Apparently this is fixed in the upcoming DAZ 4.9, so there's hope even for everyone that don't have the right graphics card.

    Thank you Isidorn.

Yes there is an issue with Iray. The Iray render engine is designed to work with your graphics card and not the cpu. You may get some items to render with the cpu but when you have High Res maps and true PBR textures ( Metallic, Base Color, Roughness, Normal, Height  and Reflective) for each material zone it’s necessary to use the graphics card. I know there is something in the read me for the Heavy Mech but it is worth repeating. I guess someone could reduce the texture maps pixel sizes but it would mean less detail in your renders, if you had a older machine that would be a work around but at a cost.

If you refuse to use 4.9, I've found a simple fix most of the time is to set Metallicity to 0. Obviously not ideal, but...

Photo found in the a trunk supposedly owned by my great grandfather. Scribbled on the back are the words "34th posing with Big Willie"

It took a while to get this to work. I didn't have trouble with Iray, even though my machine doesn't have a good graphics card. Instead I could get only place 4 figues in a scene at a time before the program ground to a halt. So there is a composite of three renders there. And I probably over did the Ron's Scratches brushes, but it was fun.

I really like the vintage vibe, well done!

  • I really like that, Joe.  I love how old it looks.

I owe AntMan /The AntFarm another big thanks for the Mini Bots (and Window Shopping too, for that matter) that just won me first place in Novica's "Because I Said So" Contest for December/January!

This certainly looks interesting. More importantly though, will bikinis autofit to it wink

Right! I should stress all my robots are au naturel, very risque.

This guy has some fun poses.

So he or she I guess it, is live in the store. I'm hoping some of you have use for an almost real world robot, but if not feel free to kit bash the crap out of him. But this guy is pretty cool and would be great in a s.w.a.t. or trip to mars render.

I think it will be even tougher than with the mini bots to get this one to look good in a bikini, but I will have to try laugh

There are some lines that should not be crossed !

  • You know, Isidorn, when you've seen one bot in a bikini, you've seen them all. wink  Although, I do have to say that it was great seeing those bots in that shop window.  I still smile just thinking about it.

I wasn't going to buy this, but I've decided to go on a diet this month anyway, so it is currently downloading.  I already have a vague idea of my first render for it which doesn't include a bikini.

Naked Bot In A Shop Window With A Bone?

  • Ooo, good one, but no.  I was thinking more like a girl and her bot dog.
