Why is it a bad idea to eat a whole box of snack cakes in one day?

Cause then they are all gone .......and  lots of calories you have to burn off .....

Plus you won't have any for later if they're all gone in one sitting!

not if they are freshly baked

    it's just commonsense

on the otherhand things like Twinkies that apparently last years... well I wouldn't feed it to a dog

Ah, clever, clever, hiding the "delete" in an invisible blue heart.  Aren't hearts for things you like?  I've seen that heart appear but didn't want to mark it as somehow specially loved.frown  Sometimes I think computer interfaces are designed by aliens.

I can't buy it because it says it is purchased.  Do I need to use DIM to install it?

I think web page interfaces were better when buttons looked like buttons, were big, were labeled, were presented in garish primary colors, and were prominently obvious.yes

Of course, going further back, I also believe computer interfaces were better when there were dozens of lights, switches and dials on the console for the important stuff, teletypes were used for the complex stuff, networking was in the future, core memory was priced at $18,000 for 32KBsurprise, the very small finite number of operators were corporate professionals, and computers were too expensive for the unwashed rabble.cheeky  It's all been downhill since then.wink

....yeah, I hate it when sites have what look like "buttons" but you have to zero in on the text to click it. I also dislike it when they use a light colour (either for the button or a link) on a white background as with my tired old eyes I have extreme difficulty reading it as there is almost no contrast. . Not everybody sets their browser to "dark mode".

Yep, white buttons on a white background with [occasionally] a light grey border, really low contrast, excessively bright screen, all at a time when inclusivity for those with some sight loss in all other walks of life is increasing. I suppose to keep up with the same overall levels of discrimination, if things improve in one area, they are required to get worse somewhere else, and computers are the designated discrimination zones - otherwise Android, Apple & Windows wouldn't all have adopted the same default styles that are so hard to read.

It always amuses me how much Microsoft touted their millions spent usability research with Win95. Money that has been entirely thrown away developing their recent low contrast/hard to see screens.

    Regards,

    Richard

Usability isn't important anymore, it's all about changing colors, fonts and being new...

I know. Doing the job something is meant to do quickly, efficiently (or at all) is entirely unimportant compared to the necessity for something to look absolutely in accordance with this second's current style. And if the programming is poor and it works badly or slowly, just throw more styling at it to hide the problem, and failing that being enough of a disguise, increase the minimum processor speed requirements. Heaven help the stupidity of someone who suggests that the program is optimised in some way.

    Regards,

    Richard.

It shouldn't be surprising, fashion is more subjective and easier to bluff your way through a design meeting with, than a flawed algorithm.  And complaints are easier to ignore too.

Correspondingly, fashion complaints are more subjective and easier to  throw at the product, rather than the tedious task of documenting an algorithmic complaint.indecision

Just testing if uploading an image works now.

It does.  Does anyone know anything about this prop?  It is a prop because the wheels can't move.

Try using 7Zip or the like, rather than the built-in zip tool (which did seem to unzip only one package when I tried it just now)

Complaint: Dogs have been killing me. I could hardly walk. So, off to the podiatry, I'm sitting there, and he says," Ahh, it's not that bad. I say, "Do you want my feet? I'll gladly give them up." He sounds real. You have a pimple on your foot; I have never heard that one before. I know I'm getting pimples, as I might be going through my teen years before I revert to gibbering Idiot, but I have pimples on my feet. What the heck?

So he removed this tool and started talking about nothing in particular, scraping all this callus off the bottom of my feet and trimming my nails. By the time I left, I could almost walk normally. Now, I barely have any pain. Pimples on my feet, who would have figured?

Being a diabetic, he says, could have gotten worse, especially with the problem people with diabetes have with losing the feelings in their feet.

Non-complaint; The 18 year old, butt-ugly Opel Astra that has done over 200 thousand miles was given a clean approval at the annual inspection today smiley

As someone who has spent most of my working life on my feet, I'm no stranger to bad callouses on the feet. They really do cause a lot of pain, but also take away the "squishiness" of the bottom and bottom sides of the feet that provides some cushioning while walking. Both my kids swear by regular pedicures and convinced me to do the same. I can't recommend them highly enough. When my father was older he developed diabetes-related foot issues that were greatly helped by a diabetes foot care specialist who came to the house. It made a huge difference in his foot pain levels, and thus mobility, and consequently his activity levels.
