Apparently they knew how close I was to pull the trigger the first day, so instead of $20.74, they sold me the Pro bundle for $19.45 yesterday. blush

Well this might be a shocker for some people LOL but anatomical elements are of no use to me at all but the extra shapes for Olympia have good use cases

I don't use them either, but I'm just using that as an example to show that these extra shapes are not the only product ever that was limited to a pro bundle.

Edit: Olympia 8 is so unremarkable amongst those three the only use I ever had for this figure was as a base required for Olympia 7 for Olympia 8 product. wink

Olympia 8 was all sorts of oofta. If I had to give my personal opinion on the worst of all G8 DO skins...Olympia 8 would be right at the top.

I caved and bought the pro bundle so I could get the daughter/mother/krone shapes. I liked both hairs and both outfits too, so there's that. I hadn't bought any bundles in some time so I decided to treat myself as I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan.

  • Ok. I'm kind of bummed out because I wanted the alternative shapes but never saw them in either bundle thinking they would be released separately I purchased the starter bundle. Now it appears they are not available at all but some people were able to get them? WTH?

They are still listed under "What's Included and Features" on the Pro Bundle although they don't show up in the pictures of the products included on the product page. It's odd. I bought the Pro Bundle nevertheless and the alternative shapes are available in my content library.

One gets pictures and links to product pages only when the item is available separately. There are some bundle only items on other bundles as well, not just the anatomical elements.

You could, if you wish, open a support ticket and ask if you could swap the Starter for the Pro bundle for the price difference.

I did originally buy the Starter Bundle but after seeing some of the great renders with the Alternative Shapes I bought the pro bundle and put in a ticket asking for a refund on the starter bundle. Edit- Richard's method would probably have worked better. I was just afraid of missing the sale price on the Pro Bundle.

I have gotten into the alternate shapes a bit but the default Olympia HD looks pretty good to me, particurly with the expressions made for her.

Without defending the practice of making products exclusive to Pro Bundles, it makes far more sense for those exclusive items to be specific to the character, instead of re-buying the anatomical elements every time you buy a Pro Bundle.

Here's my side-by-side comparison...out of the box versus a couple different quick shader tweaks. Click for larger size!

@MelissaGT I really like 'Tweaked 2' that slight olive tint is dead on for a Greek lady I worked with in Athens. May I ask what were your settings?

    Mary

Here is what I did -

    • Translucency weight to .95
    • Translucency color to 1.00, 0.97, 0.89 (you can tweak this around to change the undertoning of the skin...so in this case I wanted a bit more olive...or you could go for more pink or more yellow or more blue...just be careful with lowering that first value as it can make the translucency map too dark and not in a good way)(I always start with 1,00, 1.00, 1.00 and then go from there)
    • Dual Lobe Specular Relfectivity to 0.35 (just a little pop because the skin kinda looked dry before)
    • Transmitted Color to 0.99, 0.99, 0.99 (it should always be this color otherwise you can see weird green lines where the textures meet along the uv, especially with spectral rendering)
    • Transmitted Measurement Distance to 0.015 (good default to start...can tweak a smidge but go higher and you could end up with too much glowy red)
    • SSS Color to 254, 236, 144 (Hue 50, Sat 110, Val 254...you can tweak around with these but I always start here...the biggest changer is Val...254 might be too high on some skin...too much strength...so you can go from 250 - 254 and see what looks best)
    • Scattering Measurement Dstance to 0.0015 (good default to start...you won't really want to mess with this too much)
    • SSS Direction to 0 (always this)

My best suggestion is to start here and then tweak around with them to see what changes what...not all skins are the same, but above is what I start with.

Here is another example with changing only one setting from the above...the SSS Color. I changed Val from 254 to 253 (click for bigger size!)

Thank you very much MelissaGT. I am sorry to be so late thanking you, my life has been crazy for the last week and a half and I missed seeing this thread the few times I was on the Commons. I appreciate your answer.

I bought the Olympia 9 Pro Bundle on the first day, and it cost me $19.15. The lack of a picture for Olympia 9 HD Alternative Shapes but it being listed below confused me, so I was uncertain if it was included or not, but took a chance.

Where do we get this color for the dress? https://gcdn.daz3d.com/p/90478/i/OlympiaProBundle2c.jpg

Your link downloaded the picture onto my computer. You may want to change the Target window of the URL to 'New Window'.

After thinking about your question, I expect it is the default dress, or a shader applied. As the image you posted looks a little lighter than what the picture on the promo for it does.

Here is a render I made for the Daz+ Summer Sale 2023 Render Contest. Oly and her winged friend Agapito.

@MelissaGT I used your settings on Olympia's skin, thank you for sharing them! You always make all the characters look so much better. :)

Olympia 9 is georgeou but too bad I will have to pass on her.  All I need is the base character and the alternhative shapes.  I do NOT need the HD makkeup or any oif the Greek mythordology items.  I do mainly pinup & Sci-Fi renders and eveery thing else in the bundles I just don't need and can't use.  Oh well, just venting a little frustration.

Anyone else notice that the Young Adult character preset loads without the mouth textures?  Easily fixed but annoying.  I looked back through the thread and didn't see anything posted about it but noticed sid's pic doesn't have mouth textures either.

I did have some issues getting the maps to work right.  After I added the main maps to get the teeth textures corrected I  kept getting the white face.  I did find the post here about how to fix the white face bug after the fact.  Thanks to who posted that!

I'm not into the Gal Gadot look as a personal preference, but I think the older base will be good for mixing.

    Wonderful work, I love it

  • Any help 'bout Olympia Bundle : This promo picture : I can't reproduce Olympia's face in the promo picture. I imagine it's the alternative shape young but the face remains very different. The cheekbones in particular appear more puffy. Is it the expression used that does this?
