I mean.... Pro bundles with just 2 outfits??

Anyway I want her and the two outfits and Pegasis but the bundles together are discounted sooo much it work out better (and I have 3 tokens).

I wish the Olympian Warrior was distinct enough not to carry editorial :(

    Hmm,

Olympia 9 is nice but still...
    - where's my incentive for owning Ally 9 (that was advertise)?
    - where'y my incentive for already owning all older Olympia bundles?

Ok, here was my cart in case anybody is trying to figure out pricing -

*edit to add that I pretty much just put the horse stuff in there for the extra discount...

If you add another of today's textures to that I think you'll get more discount.. may work out worth it.

The jury is still out, waiting for additional incentive, but this is the cart so far... The Olympia 9 HD Pro bundle is at $20.74 (90% off)

  • I absolutly love her. Did not buy the bundle, have way to many similar outfits like those in the bundle, also Poses I do not need.

The jewels, Pegasus helmet , hair ,Make up and the Pegasus bundle was flying straight into my cart.

A quick Render with her in a outfit from Gen 8  (Did not correct the Poke through's)

I love all Olympia Character, but she is my fav so far.

I already added the textures for the one outfit that I would use. If I added the others, it'd still cost me more overall and I wouldn't use them.

Y'all are such 'ungrateful whiners'! Nah just kidding (don't beat me up pretty please), I am one too because I also can't figure out what are the perks for owning other G9 core characters. Oh and no banners too. Might not be a bad thing as I don't know if I like Olympia 9 or not. She does look like a real Greek woman though

But two textures gets an extra discount on both textures and bundles.  With 1 Texture set I'm at $41.43 on cart but with two it's  $40.24

Saving $1.20 and getting an extra set too

See his attachment. He used 8 tokens as well as discounts for including the Pegasus Bundle, two addon textures and the spotlight item.

ETA: with the DAZPLUS coupon for a total of $6 off DOs you can reduce the price even farther. I was able to get it down to $17.08 as well as reducing the other DOs in my cart.

I wished  i'd be interested, under 30$ for the pro bundle and the pegasus bundle together (with 8 tokens)- wow, a great deal! Unfortunately greek mythology won't trigger me atm, and the bundles are almost exclusively focused on that, so i pass, but generally a fantastic deal!

I'm kinda here too. I've loaded up a cart with both main bundles, taking advantage of a full allotment of tokens and every combined discount on offer today, and managed to have 29 things in the cart for under $100 before tax (that's counting the bundles as one thing, so technically a lot more individual items than that; and it would be better than that if i hadn't already used both of my daz+ coupons this month) ... but what on earth do I need winged horses or any of the Olympia stuff for in my 1800s/1900s no-fantasy-races-gods-or-creatures stories?

I'll sit on the cart all day and wait to be compelled.

EDIT: I figured out the bundle thing. It's just not well explained on the sale page. You have to click into the bundle to see it contains everything in the starter bundle too.

I'm a bit confused. The Pro Bundle doesn't seem to be as good a deal/contain as much as the Starter bundle. Also, the Alternative Shapes product in the Pro Bundle seems to be inactive. So, feels just like more Daz-foolery to me.

I'm not the target audience anyway though as I still think Olympia 9 is boring and can't stand up to previous gens. But to each their own.

I just don't get the packaging of the bundles or the product that doesn't seem available issue.

As far as I know that run has ended, as has the string of associated contests.

    - where'y my incentive for already owning all older Olympia bundles?

I would assume, since people are getting a discount on specific items rather than freebies or a cross-cart discount for purchasing, that those of us who already own the older versions will not get additional discounts for that.

  • There was an advertisement on the last DO character - I think Ally - that buying them would discount an upcoming character. I don't think it was on the Ally promo page itself. IIRC, it was a generic "Buy current  new release DO Gen 9 character to get a discount in the next". Not that exact wording - paraphrasing from memory. Don't think it mentioned Ally by name but was instead next after the daily sale promo on the carousel.

I got a new release discount banner yesterday for owning a previous DO G9 character, which confused me as there were no new DO characters released yesterday. But I ignored it because nothing interested me yesterday. The character began with an A and I think it was Angela, but maybe it was Ally. I wasn't really paying attention tbh.

Same... 25 items in the cart, $830 worth of products for $70 (91.5% off). Great deal, but doesn't make my heart rate go up.

I'll probably just let it sit and see how it looks after Daz midnight at work tomorrow, as it doesn't look like we are going to get any additional offers or banners today anymore.
I still have 2 full days and change before some of my tokens are expiring, so I can just sit on them.

  • How's the Olympia Alternative Shapes thing work? The item shows as inactive in the store for me despite being shown in the new releases of the sale promo under the pro heading (second in the list right next to the pro bundle). It isn't included in the list of items on the pro bundle page, but the text in the pro bundle suggests it's included. Can't click on the sale promo to see if it's any good either - takes me to a page that says the item doesn't exist.

That usually means the product is only available when one buys that bundle, when one buys the bundle one can download the product just like any other product included in the bundle.

The 'Anatomical Elements' in G8/G8.1 Pro bundles are also like that.

Ah well. Not buying something that I can't look at beforehand. Seems like it could be a useful option for G9, but with no images nor a description of what's included/how universal it may be, who knows? Could have tipped me to the pro bundle, but think I'll pass today.

There are sliders that allow you to adjust different elements of the body. I didn't try them on another character when I was trying to change Olympia 9 HD to a male, but I did keep coming across them.

One of the promo pictures in the Pro Bundle shows the alternative shapes.

When I reviewed the Pro Bundle there was no icon for the Alternative shapes, but there was a link that worked for the promo pages. And when I made my purchases I was able to print the promo pages at that time. After I downloaded I found the thumbnail was missing, just a generiac DAZ logo. So I went to try to access the promo again and found it went to a 404 page now and the SKU was no longer there. I used the image that showed for my thumbnail.

This is what was written on the promo:

Here are some quick renders of Olympia 9 Elder, "regular", Young Adult. Loaded the character presets and bikini that's it.

The Young Adult one does not have HD morphs like the other two, and unlike every daz originals ever.. it does not even have nipples textures lol. The skin is the same as the regular Olympia 9 save the gens and nipples, and the breasts have some paler textures (slight tanlines?) going on on the regular one not present on the Young Adult version.

Interestingly, the textures filenames for the Young Adult version have the T suffix like the teen skins for Angela 9 and Julia 9. However, the latter two have nipples textures.

//Edit : Upon further investigation, there's "youth" and "young adult" morph sliders - yet the "Young Adult" character preset loads up the "youth" morphs.

"Young Adult" and "Youth" seem identical except the scaling 99.88% vs 105.12%

    Youth: 99.88%

    Young Adult 105.12%

    Regular: 105.25%

Elder: It has no dedicated proportion slider, so same as regular, 105.25%

  • Thank you for the descriptions and renders, everyone. I ended up buying the Pro bundle after all. I think Daz owe you commission laugh

iirc that's a Daz Studio bug. It happens to every character for me using the makeup section of the PBR materials. Those with seperate skin textures / LIE presets do not have that issue. A work around is to leave iray preview (i.e. texture shaded) and move back to iray preview, or turn off and on the "Makeup Enable" in the materials.

I mean.... Pro bundles with just 2 outfits??

This is pretty close to the kind of assortment they were doing before they stopped pro/starter bundles altogether, IIRC. It's not my favorite thing in the world--I don't want the makeup or the helmet, really--but I'm way more likely to buy one bundle that has two outfits, two hairs, poses, and assorted character extras than I am to buy pretty much that same stuff split up across two themes per character, each at pro bundle prices. The extra stuff like the throne room set is nice to get with the whole package, but not usually anything I'd buy separately, and with bundles set up like Kiri's it's more like buying mostly assorted extras with just one of each type of item I usually want. Especially when I consider whether I can swing the price for the one hair and one outfit I especially want...and they're in different bundles.

The whole draw of the original pro bundle format for me was that it was always a nice way to get a ton of stuff that could be generally useful for a doable price. I used to tell people who were getting started with Daz that core character releases were a good way to fill out an asset library, because the pro bundle discounts were how I could afford to do it early on. I'm probably never doing Daz+ again, so it's nowhere near the same benefit for me that it used to be, but I really like Olympia so, hey, it's in my cart.

    Some close ups:

    Older (Minerva on the right):

    Younger:

I'm not into the Gal Gadot look as a personal preference, but I think the older base will be good for mixing.

Here's a quickie render of all three generations. I did notice that the young adult loads with different colored eyes. Since eyes wouldn't change from hazel to deep, dark brown, I applied Olympia 9's eyes ;).
