From Hera's comment on should be in the "Freebie Discussion" thread, technically. The complaint seemingly isn't where the new freebies went, or came from, but that they're older store items; that the freebies aren't themselves new.
I don't mind a mix of older pieces on one-time freebie sale, myself: once or twice it's even been stuff from my wishlist that wasn't in the budget yet.

I think i'm no violating any rules posting this, but just in case i will not provide links.
For the rest of the year. Quixel Megascans is 'Free' for everyone (not just to UE as it used to).
Epic is combining all its marketplaces into one brand (it is called Fab) and since UE marketplace is one of them, seems UE will no longer have the megascans free 'advantage/perk'. Instead of just suddenly turn paid for everyone they are allowing anyone to claim the current megascans library (i think around 17k assets) for free with standard license. My understanding from this license is that it allows comercial use in images/videos and even games, but is not a merchant resource.
