Up to 80% off on Carrara and DAZ products in the Thankgiving Weekend Sale. Sadly not all Carrara PA's where not in sale. I grabbed some by PhilW, HowieFarkes and a few others. Plus G2 Figures... note that starter and pro bundles are a fraction of their normal price.

My Carrara wishlist is smaller but my wallet weeps. :)

Yeah, we can use all of the dynamic hair tools and adjustments on all of the Carrara dynamic hair products - I think.

So you'd need to use those tools - not morph dials or anything like that.

We can increase/decrease the number of hairs as well as how thick the strands are too.

I don't have them... but I'm pretty sure this is how it works

  • Thanks, Dartanbeck.

I thought I recalled asking a similar question some time ago, and somebody said "depends on how they're made," or some such.

Unfortunately, I've already made my (very LARGE, for me) order. I don't really have any use for any of the other new items, in order to get the discount on the hairs. Shoulda bought them, anyway, and returned, if I found I couldn't adjust them!

OT (sorry), for strict sale-notification purposes, but:

IIRC, in the past, when prices have dropped this low for Carrara, a new version is released soon after.

Do we have any other indicators that this might be happening?

(Of course, when prices dropped this low for Hexagon, we all know what happened next. But I don't foresee that for Carrara, any time soon.)

I don't know if prices have dropped this low for Carrara recently, but there've certainly been a few other sales in which the price of Carrara has gone well into "practically giving it away" territory since the release of C8.5. My impression is that DAZ doesn't care too much about Carrara pricing just at the moment: they set up all their formulas and someone goes "Huh, how about that, with all these discounts Carrara's selling for pennies on the dollar, should I fix that?" and someone else says "Nah, let it ride."

This impression is entirely unsupported by any kind of official statement, inside line to DAZ HQ, or anything else. It's simply that low double-digit or single-digit Carrara sale prices now seem to be the rule rather than the exception.

I haven't heard anything else to suggest that C9 is about to drop (but see above about my lack of an inside line to DAZ HQ). The last I heard was that some development work had been done on a newer version of Carrara, so someone at some point apparently intended for C8.5 not to be the last version. But only the ninjas (who are sworn to secrecy) know if any testing is going on currently, and only DAZ knows whether this will eventually to lead to a future Carrara or not.

TL;DR: I think you shouldn't read too much into the low low sale price. It might mean what you think ... but it might not.

Yeah, I've barely used 8 but for that price, I had to pick it up.

Just drop the code in the slot and we get the product we choose from this list for FREE!

...and now petipet joins in the fun by giving away one of his two new releases!

Yes, that Petipet scene looks amazing for free - I already grabbed it!

Must get more into this scifi stuff - it looks amazing. And a Poser version too! Thanks for the HU yes

Ha!  You beat me to it.

  • It wasn't free for me. Is it PC only?

    Yep, PC+ only sad

    I got it yes

and TD2 for free... good for the textures that come with it as itself don't work in Carrara that I can see.

    be quick with this one

Ha!  You beat me to it.

petipet's stuff is awesome. I always snap it up, even if I don't know what I'll use it for, 'cause it's so well done. The neo-retro style of the vehicles appeals to me. In this particular set, I dig the futuristic tri-monitor setup for the desktop computer.

  • If you are a Platinum member, the newest PC+ item is also petipet:

At a little over three bucks, it's nice to have a useable qualifying item for sale discounts, rather than all that Genesis 3 stuff.

Jus to expand on this, for those who may not have seen it.  If you plug the words HOLLIDAZ into the coupon code space, you get to select a free RDNA item from this multi-page list:

    http://www.daz3d.com/featured-runtime-dna-free-selection

Today is the last day for the coupon.

Like Stezza, quite a few people on the other forums are talking about picking up the Terradome 2, even though it is billed as "poser-only."  Personally, I'm getting a vintage A3 item.

Don't forget that there is an additional 20% off this month.  Note that I always refresh the cart after adding items as they don't always show the proper/best price when added.

  • PhilWPhilW Posts: 5,145

    20%?  I think I've only been offered 5%!

  • wgdjohnwgdjohn Posts: 2,634

You've got to be pulling my leg... Hmmm... perhaps only being a PA you don't rate. :)  I just checked for http://www.daz3d.com/psi-barracks and all other items I got 20% off of each item I bought tonight.

I believe it is rated due to the amount you have spent at DAZ in the past as mine says 25%.

I was offered 10%. It probably depends on how much you spent over the previous month or so (I spent around $100 in November, which is a lot for me)

16% - I spend too much. An inactive account gets 5%

I'm sort of scared that there are people who get a bigger loyalty discount ... MUCH bigger ... than I did. My spending this year has reached levels that can only be described as 'irresponsible'. Yet apparently there are folks who've spent even more. I can only assume that they're sending DAZ something like the GDP of a small African nation on a weekly basis.
