Thanks for the list.  Not sure what I plan, but I have a couple of ideas, neither of which is on the list.

Get those ideas rolling Diomede !!!

nice work Bunyip02, I kind of like the unpostworked one - bit of irony in the title!!

thanks for being kind enough to comment on my image too

    Thanks !!!

Title and name of the band is not to be taken too seriously, formed the image then looked for the title and a band name.

Like any list, you may quibble with the selection or the order.  But most of the widely accepted iconic ones are there.

I picked out two to see if I can replicate either one to some degree in Carrara.  A challenge, for sure.

I remember Stezza doing an Abbey Road version a while back, but I can't find it.

So, here is my Lorez interpretation of America's Sweetheart wink. Consider it as an alternative Courtnay angel

    Carrara assemble view

This is Loretta with some not very flattering morphs.

Lighting is very strong (necessary for the final render). It has a half uniform light dome with 256 lights totalling 300% (1% and something per light). It also as a single distant light at 100% facing the subject

    This is the initial render:

    Initial render

As post effect, I used the GMIC plugin the the Retro fade effect:

    GMIC effect

    Final render with post is:

This fuzzy hair if you have it (Beautiful black hair styles) , it won't render till you remove the aplha channel in the texture room.

V4 with some daz shop textures and a random daz morph (elite?)

Pre and Post. I decided to move the word "Star " a little in post work - which was a PITA.

Used to adding text in ps so this is a good learning experience

And Thanks to stezza who taught me how to to select the contents of a layer in photoshop .....!!!

Aretha was looking a little crosseyed - hopefully i fixed it up in post.

Used PhilW's excellent bright eye's produce for the corneal highlights - then tidy them up in post

Only have time for a couple of comments.  Sorry to not include every render.

A sumptuous composition there HW.   Love seeing Aikobot, one of my favorite characters.  As usual, the textures are ridiculous.

Ha, great choice, Philemo.  Any chance you can give her angel wings? :)  Nice to see you posting!

Wow Mcguiver, wish this was an entry.yes

Stezza, you are amazing!  A super creative homage.  And no postwork to boot.

    Come Fly With Me

At #12 on the 100 list, this render is an homage to Jon Jonson, the artist who created the cover.  I couldn't find out anything about him, unfortunately.

The goal was to see how close I could get to the original while staying within Carrara.  The cover looks kind of simple, but it took longer than i imagined.

There are several versions of the cover online.  I ended up with a composite of the versions that I liked the best.

Processes include Toon3 and GMIC.  The background "buildings" were made with a map from JSPlacement loaded on a plane.

David 5 is Frank.  The stewardress is V3, the female hand is V4, and the other characters are versions of Stylized Business Man and Woman (I had never used those before).

The plane is the Lockheed Super Constellation, which fortunately was on Sharecg.  Passenger ramps were constructed using primatives.

All text was Carrara text, as per the rules, including the text part of logos.  The only exception was the plane, which came with a few TWA texture maps.

    No postwork.

super job UB, wonderful to see what you have come up with and your use of various characters - and thinking outside of the box, going back in time

Googled the original album cover - you did a good homage
