How hard would it be to use this figure in DAZ Studio?

I have no idea. Does DAZ Studio deal well with Poser weight mapping?

if zeroed,  converted to triax and saved as a support asset figure she works quite well with any Genesis 1 poses and animations

    just her morphs don't work

that can be fixed exporting each one as an obj from Poser and importing in morphloader, and erc freeze run then saved,

one can import all the obj in morphloader at once and run erc freeze on each and save them all at once

I haven't done it yet but that's how it's done

  • oh and her textures need flipping and resaving in another folder and reapplied for DS as DS cannot rotate or flip textures

"...and Acrobat", said the strange little bald man, as a a glowing green quarterstaff appeared in Diana's hands. Instantly, she knew how to use it together with the gymnastics she trained for in high school. She launched into an attack side by side with Hank on the huge, many-headed dragon immediately.

Should be "product" not "products" but I'll set the server to accept both.

A recommendation for everyone who deals with images on a regular basis, like all of us:
    https://imagemagick.org/script/index.php

ImageMagick provides a whole library of scriptable command-line tools for adjusting images, from the basic like flip and flop, to the esoteric like setting the bit depth from 16 to 8 or vice versa.
There's a 'convert' command line tool that can be used on one, plus other tools like 'montage' that combine images together and 'mogrify' which can be used on a while directory at once.

I'm trying to register as well but in vain, the pop-up window just freezes. I left one field blank, Handle desired, because I have no clue what that even means; maybe that's the cause.

I'm confused about some files. I am new to Poser so, that can explain my confusion.

You have the last 3 files on her main link and I am not sure if all three are needed, the E2Core zip, the Elizabeth2 exe and Elizabeth 2 dmg. That last one I definitely don't know what it is and it won't download for me for some reason. I just want to make sure I install the right files and correctly.

I was able to download everything available so far with no redirects to facebook or anywhere else, so the links are good, except with the Biker Jacket, the download kept hanging forever with no movement at all. I tried several times with no luck.

The EXE is the full installer for Windows, and the DMG is the full installer for Mac.
If you downloaded the zips, you don't need the Windows or Mac installer, and if you downloaded one of the installers, you don't need the ZIPs.
I just wanted to provide people options. For the full figure, having a full installer looks more professional and polished and some people prefer it, while other people don't like installers and prefer ZIP files, so I made sure both were options, is all.

So far, I havan't made installers for anything but the figure herself.

How hard would it be to use this figure in DAZ Studio?

She's a Poser weightmapped figure, and DS can't use Poser weight maps. So you'd have to redo the rigging for DS.

Indeed it doesn’t, but apparently recreating a basic rig for DS is not that difficult (see Wendy’s posts). It probably won’t be perfect but at least it’s a start...

  • Hi Dodger -- what's the license on this figure and her stuff? Personal use only, commercial, noncommercial, nonredistributable, etc.? Thanks.

Accidentally left the license and README out of the ZIPs. (It's in the installers) I'll correct that when I update a few things.

In summary, you can use the figure commercially, but not in any way that anything functional as a figure can be directly extracted (like games or FB 3D uploads and such--I'm aware that photogrammetry can do a lot and will only get better). You can't resell the figure or redistribute the figure itself. You can create derivations like morphs and clothes and sell them if you like. Pretty much the standard with one exception (in your favour): You CAN use portions of the mesh to create new figures (aka "Frankensteining") provided the figure created using portions of the mesh is also free, and the complete mesh not be used (and I don't mean just leaving out one vertex). I maintain the rights to disallow this and then forebear it being done (which is legalese for "I'm not telling you you have carte blanche to do this but I don't go after yo for doing it as long as you're not being a jerk about it"). The goal is that the complete original figure should be gotten from Whatever3D, but I encourage add-ons and increasing her versatility! One special restriction, though: She may NOT be used to promote racism or hate speech under any circumstances.

  • Thanks for answering Dodger. I have one specific question... Could she be morphed and then the head portion of her mesh sold as 3D printable heads? Or does that go against your prohibition against commercial use from which a figure can be extracted?

By the way, I just love the fact that her default shape and texture are a medium brown African woman. That's so damn cool!

A new Dodger figure!  I got Poser 11 pro so I need to use it more often, so maybe Elizabeth will inspire me to do that.

Hopefully this is a stupid question, can I make commercial characters and/or outfits for her?  I guess I can do freebies, but I have a habbit I mean 3D hobby to fund.

edit; I have a character in my fictional universe named Elizabeth Jordan and I think your Elizabeth 2 in the figure’s promo shots looks close enough to my Elizabeth. I am looking for a photo of a painting I did of her (though the original got damaged so it got thrown out,

As long as you remesh her head -- which you probably would want to do for a printable -- it's fine to give her head away as a printable. As for selling as a printable, I hadn't thought about that. Let me think about it.
