I confess, to my untutored eye, the differences look minimal barring the folding wire handle on the cup.

Lukon, I wrote a stl->obj converter program for Windows a while back, which can be downloaded here: http://www.chestnutpens.co.uk/misc/stltoobj.html. This still leaves you with the problem that everything is triangles, and many will be sharp, with no texture mapping. But, it's one step closer to being usable.

Well, this looks like it. Unfortunately, it is in STP format, which will be very difficult to get into Daz Studio. Maybe the model's maker can do you a vafor and make an .obj conversion for you.

Anyone know where I can find a freebie M-1961 US Army canteen set, prefferably with rigged cap.

Unfortunately, that's not the right one. That's a WWII canteen, not the M-1961, whioch was, as the nomenclature suggests, was brought into miitary service in 1961 and was used up until 2002.

    Damn. That's too bad.

But this canteen seems like something that a modler called "Papus3d" might like to model up for free. It might be worth asking him to give it a shot.

Cool. Is STP format similar enough to STL format enough for the script to work on it?

I already have some experience with such conversions, via a student edition of 3DS-MAX 2016 and Blender. Long skinny triangles are just the begining of the problems I've had do fix - in fact, the LEAST of the problems. Usually the mesh is messed up in other ways too, like folded faces and multiple copies of almost every vertitcie.

So I'm wondering whether your script does any better than what I've been using.

Gadz I have a love/hate relationship with nurbs models like STL and SKP and so on. People make the most wonderfully weird free vehicles in those formats. And so I take the bait and convert a few of such models best I can and then spend months per model re-working the mesh to make it look ok in Daz.

I wrote that not long after waking up and brain wasn't properly engaged. DOH. Sorry. No, they're totally different. I have tried to do an STP->Obj translator, but the STP format was too complicated for me to understand. I apologize for wasting your time.

I'm looking for "police line do not cross" type barriers that you'd get around a crime scene.

    Cheers.

If I remember correctly, a couple years ago I requested a zebra skin for the Daz Horse 2 so that I could use it on a centaur.  A very, very kind soul made me one (please forgive me I didn't write down who it was), it worked great, I got a very nice render out of it (that I actually still like, after all this time!).  But now I'm looking for one for the Hivewire Horse, because I need an actual zebra and I don't have the right kind of mane/tail for a zebra for Daz Horse 2.  I still have the one for Daz Horse 2, but I don't know if there's a way to make it work for the Hivewire Horse.  Does anyone know of a way to convert them, or perhaps do you know of a freebie zebra skin already made for Hivewire Horse?  I don't need mane or tail mats, just the body, head, hooves etc.

I am looking for POSH 1940s to 1950s female clothing

I think you might like some of Wilmap's work: https://www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk/

    Hi Hylas,

I have already checked Wilmaps site, but unfortunatly nothing is suited for my G3F project.  If anything I'm really surprised that there is not any 1950s clothing...... We have loads of 50s cars and shexy poses but no clothes -  LOL  its a funny world we live in...LOL

I'll attached a couple of images of what I am looking for :)

@shadowbox24 - Did you ever find what you were looking for? I'm always looking for new things to try to model...

    I don't know if shadowbox24 is still around, but I modeled a 50's looking dress for G8F, G3F and G2F at https://www.deviantart.com/perlk/art/Free-50s-Dress-for-Genesis-Females-912116612

    Hi Perlk,

OK, this is my 2nd attempt trying to reply so I'll keep it short!   -  I love 1930 - 1940s A-Line swirly coats or jackets with the BIG 3 quarter sleeves and straight pencil skirts which stop at mid calf - a bit like Princess Grace fashion... clean and classy!

Also, just to let you know that I did DL your 50s skirt and tried to use it, but as I can't use d-force on my ole mash-up pooter, the skirt exploded each time she move (see att img ) ......But otherwise, thanks for making it and requesting that your up for a 30/40s clothing challenge.

    Many thanx and kind regards

    Barbz

I absolutely LOVE the 1930's/40's... it'll be my next project :-)

Sorry the skirt exploded! It will work best if you dforce it over frames rather than current frame, and do it without anything else touching it and then move your model. I've had a lot of exploding in dforce (not just my models) and those are my tips. :-)

I'm looking for the type of cactus called a Painted Lady (Echeveria derenbergii).  As you might expect... I'm not having much luck.

So that's what they are. Often see that succulent in dry terrariums round here.

No, I haven't seen any, sorry.

    Regards,

    Richard.

I found a model for $4 and just went with that.

@shadowbox24 - will this 1943 inspired shirt dress do?

I'm working on packaging it up, but it'll have 4 different colors.

(Kudos to AOBB for the lovely morph!)

What do you mean by "outlet cover"?

That might work for what I'm trying to do. I can give that a shot.

What sort of outlet? BNC TV Ariel? UK style switched 2 gang 3 pin 13 amp socket with USB charging points? There are quite a few alternatives - my local electrical factor has 20 pages of their catalogue devoted to outlet plates, and that's for UK domestic consumption, let alone international styles. Regards, Richard.

Is that the plate that goes over the wiring box, with the switch and the actual socket in it, or is it a cover that goes over the socket to block the holes off entirely?

To be honest, I couldn't tell you... I guess the best I can say is the kind you find in a standard American home for outlet use.

The cover with the actual socket(s) in it preferably. Just the plate without the socket(s) could work in a pinch though.

I have no other way TO clarify, I'm sorry. That is all I know it to be called. The best I can do is show a picture...
This, with or without the actual outlets showing.

It might be worth looking at the sites for soem of the manufacturers - they may have 3D versions available for people to use in archvis and so on, though you would need to check the usage terms.

I just noticed yesterday that the Micro Apartment had outlets
    Wall with outlet

Maybe if you own house props or a freebie house that there is one of the houses has one and you can use?

If not i would just make a cube primitive, slap a white plastic shader on there and use something like this as a texture.

I made one up if you are still interested, but I can't upload a picture or file to the forums here. I also plan on doing a four outlet version (2x2), and a 2 outlet with a single light switch version, given a bit of time. But again I'll only do them if there is any interest. These, along with the first would be posted on my freebies page at Rendo (however that can, and has) taken a week to show up. Besides, I'd rather do all of them at the same time if I post them there, and I don't know how long that might take. I have to start a new round of cancer treatments next week so I'm not sure if I'll feel up to working on it.

I'm just do tired of the constant screw-ups here, even the the damn sales don't work right anymore, not to mention the quality of same.

If you have a place I can sent it to, I'll make an exception and send it out just for you. Hell, for all I know, you might not want it anymore. If so, that's ok.

Anybody know of any free skull cap opacity maps for G8F (or any other model) that I can use to make freebie hair? I'm so bad at painting my own.
