“Midnight Skeleton” is a new standalone figure from Midnight_stories. it’s an anatomical skeleton with a difference, it combines soft and hard rigging to give you a unique and flexible boned character.

The rigging is based on Genesis 3 Male figure. This means you can use all the poses and clothing set from Genesis 3 Male, which gives it a huge support base. There are extra morphs for the facial expression, sharp teeth and vampire fangs morphs as well, see list for full details. Comes with both Iray and 3Delight material presets. This will be great for all your horror and fantasy scenes.

Be on the lookout for the Boned Wings addon and the expansion pack. It’s a skeleton with lots of options! Also, Genesis 8 Male version coming soon !

    Midnight Skeleton Anatomy Pack is a great addon for the “Midnight Skeleton” comes with conforming eyes, tail and 5 geograft horns sets.

    All materials match the “Midnight Skeleton” in both Iray and 3Delight. The Horn materials are interchangeable so you can use them on each other.

    The tail comes with easy pose dials, and can be used on any figure with a pelvis bone. The eyes will match the pose dials of the “Midnight Skeleton”. This will really spice up the skeleton and will help you make all sorts of boned demons.Works perfectly with the boned wings.

    Please note wings are not included in this pack.

    “Boned Wings for Genesis 8 Genesis 3 and Midnight Skeleton” is a new set of wings from Midnight_stories.

    This is a Standalone product, however like the name suggests I have made wearable presets for Genesis 8 and Genesis 3, Male and Female, plus “Midnight Skeleton” so it’s just drag and drop to fit.

    There are fitting dials and flapping dials for all directions, see list for details.

    It comes with the same texture set as the “Midnight Skeleton” in both Iray and 3Delight.

    This will be great for all you fantasy and horror scenes, and a must have for the “Midnight Skeleton”.

  • Thank the guys at DAZ for letting use the bones from the G3M and G8M figure, or this would have taken me a year to do !!!

  • dForce was why I made this guy in the first place I wanted to make an angel of death. But got side tracked. some of the original test. I actually had it conforming to G3M at first then used G3M as the collision object as it hold the cloth better.

    ......misses the point of the creepy bones poking through though

    The shoulder bones kept poking through but it may be OK now as they have worked on it a fare bit since then ! I'll have to do a new render or even put out the dynamic rode !

    I used the bone doctor to transfer the G3 default pose to G8 so didn't have to think about !!!

    He looks awesome! I'm often hesitant to buy stand-alone characters, but since he shares rigging with G3M, sounds like he'll do just fine with everything I've got for the guys. Can't wait!

  • Well shouldn't be too long to wait, yes it was one of the main feature I worked on, far more useful if you have a huge support base. Thanks for the comments !

    Have wanted something like this for a long while! Thank you for creating it - and keeping G3 (with its many pre-existing relevant horror/cybernetic assets) in mind!

    I really love that we'll be able to put those skeletal wings and tail on any G3 figure.

    If it was designed with that figure in mind, does this mean it would be sufficiently in proportion to place inside a G3 (hopefully male or female) figure, change the opacity of the latter and be able to create X-ray pictures? Wonder how one would parent the two so as to synchronise poses, if so...

    Yes it pretty close to G3M and fits inside it but there are a few poke through but I do provide some fitting morphs to pull them inside. Yes tail will fit G3M thanks for reminding me !

    SnowPheonix: Most of the M4/V4 skeleton can be converted to Iray and jazzed up reasonably well. There's some great detail.

    But the fingers are just... really terrible.

     

  • Looks good. Ive never been able to get the Version 4 skeletons to work right. Every time I apply a pose for the V4 figures the feet fly off. never managed to solve that.

  • There's no problems with poses as long as they are for the G3M or G8M version of the skeleton !

    A new skeleton! Finally! You did an excellent texturing job. Please release the dynamic robe. That is another thing that sorely needs an update. Biblical and classical renders suffer badly because they need your dynamic robe with multiple textures!

    I would like a female version, too.  From what I learned in the movies and forensics shows, a woman's skeleton can be distinguished from her male counterpart.

    Looks great so far for a complete skeleton.  How about broken bones?  Piles of bones, skull, ect.  Broken bones would be great to make fake xrays. I heard recently an athlete got his collar bone broken.  That and seeing this thread made me think of x rays for broken bones.  A skull by itself would be great for Shakespearean plays or forensics type renders.  

    Now we need a muscle map for the figures with Genesis 3/8 mapping to do more forensics/zombie renders.  Oops now picturing a mash up show called CSI: Walking Dead or something like Law and Order: ZVU (zombie victims unit).  Help me before I think of NCIS version of Zombies.

    This would be nice. The most obvious difference (hips) could probably be a morph.

    This looks like it's going to be a great product.

  • OK I hadn't tried this, conforming the skeleton to G3M, the jaw sticks out a bit but the rest fits well, I tried M7 shape it's an autogen morph, the legs are a bit wonky, did try the female fit but that's a bit messy the ribs turn into breasts.

    Lock the translations on the feet to zero.  That's what's done on V4 and M4, as poses created with IK on can cause this.

  • Guys I'm not saying the female one won't ever be done but after spending so much time doing this guy my inspiration for skeletons is wearing thin. Just a bit of general info the poly count is 190K. I do have a low res skeleton that gets cut down to 18K this is for use with big scenes where you have a lot of them to render, like if you used the UltraScatter plugin. It comes with 17 bone pile morphs and a physics base animated morph where it collapses and falls to the ground, it's base on the G3M skeleton, but that's a little down the track but pretty close. I also have an astronaut suit in progress, modeling is done but the rigging is a nightmare and it's 50/50 if I go on with that. Plus a moon 360 series, maps are going up tp 16K on those so rending will take forever. So my plate is full for now being a one man band, everything takes time and I fit in what I can, It's no walk in the park being a fulltime vendor. Thanks everyone one for all your comment they really do help keep me going. And the Midnight Skeleton should be just around the corner ;)
