Hi. Try a manual download (zip) and place product inside your content folder and tell me if problem persists.

  • leo04 said:

They did not. Please see the first image.

That shows the Content Library>Products>M>Morph Rigger Pro location, not the one I asked you to check.

    Sorry. will do that.

After completely scrubbing DAZ Studio and its files from my drive and the Registry I reloaded everything and now I see the asset. Thanks.

I grabbed this myself the second I could, and set about converting all of my earlier G3F morphs to G8F. Between that and Skin Builder, I'll have the new versions up and running in no time. It certainly gets around the problems I was having with Studio's rigging tool.

Just snagged this invaluable tool, as I have a LOT of custom/intergenerational character morphs that I want to cram into G8! Thanks again for being such a valuable contributor to the Daz community!

    Hi Zev0,

I am having an issue with the Morph Rigger Plus. All the rigging looks perfect expect for the lPectoral and the rPectoral as shown in the attachment below. After running your script, it does not center the lPectoral and the rPectoral to the center of the nipples. I need to do a Adjust Rigging To Shape with everything unchecked except for the lPectoral and the rPectoral to get the correct rigging.

Is it something I am doing wrong or is some change needed to the script ? My custom character morph is a single full character morph.

    Regards,

    Rajib

Update: Another way I can get the lPectoral and the rPectoral to rig properly is to first do a Adjust Rigging to Shape on the full figure and then run your script. That way the lPectoral and the rPectoral are correctly oriented after your script is run.

"After running your script, it does not center the lPectoral and the rPectoral to the center of the nipples."

Hi. This happens because we do not use orientation in the script, due to pose irregularites on the figure if that is enabled as a whole. Having the pec bones not point directly to nipples doesn't really affect the rig and posing. But if you want them orientated to nipples as you have done, then use your method for now. It won't really make a difference in that area. In the update we hope to add selective orientation on bones that does not affect pose results. But as a whole, orientation isn't a requirement when rigging a morph. This also freaked me out at first because bones weren't pointing where they should, but the morph shapes responded better with orientation off.

Thanks for the quick respone Zev0 :). Will continue what I am doing for now. Looking forward to your next update / upgrade of this script.

  • Having a slight problem. I do custome morphs in Zbrush and want to rig them so they can be applied independantly, however when I do a Head morph and a body morph the head seems to be linked to thebody slider. i.e. adjust the body and the head morphs at the same rate as the body, which I dont want. I have tried shutting the system down between generating the rigs etc but the issue continues. Any Ideas Guy's

If each morph is at 0 dial strength when rigged via Morph Rigger, they shouldn't dial up when the other is dialed.

  • Ok I know this has been out for awhile, but I'm still scratching my head about what this actually does. I'm guessing its more geared towards vendors etc. but I'm wondering how or if an average user would utilise this. I've read the description and such and I'm still a little in the dark...if anyone has a moment could you please explain it briefly in layman terms.  I'm looking for something that can convert my Genesis 3 male character morphs to Genesis 8 male...could this product achieve that?

Hi, how did you converted G3F morphs to G8F?

Have you only used Morph Rigger Plus for that purpose?

Could you please explain, how it was done. Thanks.

I would also like to second this request for an explanation please. If this can truly convert Genesis 3 character morphs to Genesis 8 I've got my finger on the 'Add to Cart' button.

This doesn't convert anything, it adjusts the rig (bones and joints) to a custom morph. If you don't make your own morphs this will do nothing for you.

Give this tutorial over at DA a try. It's a time-consuming and tedious process but it works. Note that you have to follow the steps carefully and in order. Make sure your figures are set at base resolution, Gen 8 eyelashes are deleted from scene, and that all G3 morphs you're going to transfer are set to auto-follow.

    Tutorial by a-sennov: https://www.deviantart.com/a-sennov/journal/Tutorial-Morphs-from-Genesis-3-to-8-accurate-way-735130233

When you're done, you can ERC freeze per the tutorial instructions or use Zev0/DiscoBob's Morph Rigger Plus (which I bought but haven't yet tried).

If you use the tutorial above & Morph Rigger Plus in combination with GenX2 (along with some needed morph shapes for GenX2), you can get shapes all the way back to Aiko 3, Victoria 3, Victoria 4, Genesis 1, 2, 3, etc. up to Genesis 8. Note that with big-eyed morphs like those for the Aiko characters, you'll need to manually reset the eyes, re-sale and re-translate them and then resave your morph prior to running it through Morph Rigger Plus (see link for a script to help you with this below). Yes, you can even use this process to get Star 2, Mavka for Genesis 1, 3DU's Sadie/Sam and lots of other figures up to Genesis 8 but it does take *a lot* of work and adjusting.

Free tool on ShareCG for resetting eyes: https://www.sharecg.com/v/88497/browse/10/Software-and-Tools/Eye-Jaw-Morph-Fixer-for-Face-Morphs

Here are the GenX2 links here at DAZ. You would pick the ones you needed based on how far back you need to convert.

    https://www.daz3d.com/generation-4-legacy-shapes-for-genesis-2-female
https://www.daz3d.com/gen-3-iconic-shapes-for-genesis [this is a bundle; you can buy just certain parts individually]

For the materials portion of earlier characters, you have a couple of choices. Cayman Studios sells products here at DAZ to get your legacy skins to refit onto Genesis 8. They work well.

    Cayman Studios Links

    https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-michael-4

Also, at Renderosity, Blacksmith3D sells Texture Transformer 2.0 plus a bunch of add-ons that can help you get your earlier generation skins up to Genesis 8. In that case, the skins are actually redrawn onto new maps. However, that won't get you back to V3, A3, etc. For that you need yet another product here at DAZ called Texture Converter 2 by 3D Universe to get the skins up to V4. Then, you can go from V4 to Gen3/8.

    Texture Converter 2 Links

    https://www.daz3d.com/tc2-skye-plugin
    https://www.daz3d.com/tc2-kids-4-plugin

Obviously, the cost of all this adds up and only is worth the time, hassle and money if you have valuable previous-generation characters that you can't/won't live without.

For getting clothes from older generations to fit (prior to Genesis 1), you can create your own auto-fit clones. Give this tutorial here at DAZ a try:
    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/193296/freebie-how-to-create-a-v4-clone-and-transfer-other-figures-for-g8f-now-with-video/p1

I hope all of this helps.

Thanks a lot for the tips, andolaurina.

I know, that it will be not so easy, but it is great to see all the necessary steps to achieve such conversions.

I used a converter tool available on Deviantart to convert exported morphs from Ganesis 3 to 8, and then used Morph Rigger to make sure things didn't get mangled on import.

It can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/darkhound1/art/Genesis3-to-Gen8-morph-converter-1-1-buy-it-here-688385140

May the Mods take mercy on me for posting a link to another site.

    Read the description carefully.

Just so you know, each character from export to finished takes me about 15 minutes for a solid morph, and a bit less than twice that for a head/body job.

    Not a problem :)

Mind you, it only works on the wimmenz. I don't think he's planning on a men's edition, due to what he calls a "lack of demand." Someone may have to reverse-engineer the extant piece and rebuild it for men.

He said men nope. Only women.

  • The a-sennov tutorial I mentioned above works for males or females: from G3F to G8F or G3M to G8M. It's pretty fast once you get the hang of it.

    • Prep for transfer: About 30 or so max (getting Genesis 3 to the Genesis 8 shape, etc.)
    • Dial and export an obj for each individual morph: 10-30 seconds max per morph
    • Adding them to G8F/M: 1-5 minutes for all of them (depending on how many you have)
    • Sort, test quality and categorize: 30 seconds to 1 minute per morph, depending on your process
    • If the eyes/jaw/teeth are bad for a morph, add more time to fix that
    • Doing ERC freeze or running Morph Rigger Plus adds more time
    • Save morphs: 1-5 minutes for all of them (depending on how many you have)

SIGH - Genesis males getting yet another bum wrap. :-( :-( :-(  Would love to learn this myself and produce it...but realistically, by the time I did, Genesis 10 would proabbly be out.

I just rigged and saved over 30 morphs, including some fairly extreme toon type morphs, and not only did it rig them beautiful and save them all but did so in a fraction of the time it would have taken me to do it manually. This product is AMAZING! Thank you so much for it! <3

Thanks for the kind words. There will be a huge update coming soon. Basically the script has some new features -

-You will be able to resave and update a morph if it is favourited and has already been saved - It will auto-save to where it's location is. No need to manually navigate to where it was saved. Just highlight it and hit save. You can now also instantly browse to any saved morphs location. Handy if you cannot remember specifically where it is actually located inside the data folder.

-The script is a lot smarter in recognizing saved and rigged morphs and will enable disable certain features based on it's status.

-Includes an option for alignment of bones, you can actually set its sensitivity, something that was never available before. EG If you set a specific tolerence the script will only align bones that are hugely displaced and bypass everything else. So if you rigged morphs and wish to add some alignment (I know a few don't like the pec bones not pointing correctly on certain breast shapes), you now have that option. Just favourite the morph again and re-rig via the script. We will keep you posted when the update goes live.

All in all the update with the new save feature dramatically speeds up workflow, specially if wanting to re-rig and update an existing morph.

All changes and instructions will be in the userguide which has also been updated. Thank you all for your support and patience.

Thanks for the update! It's great. The UI has suffered a bit but the functionailty is much appreciated. Browse to saved folder was also a good idea since I often seem to be navigating to that.
