OK, no more flying monkeys! By the way, I didn't invite them! Are you saying I'm a wicked witch?

However, I make no guarantees about Munchkins. They have minds of their own and I can't tell them where to go. They usually tell other people where to go. Yellow brick road indeed!

I didn't want to mention them. They have eyes and ears everywhere! I think I see lollipops coming now. :bug: :gulp:

Tramp wants some cookies. Someone enable his cookies.

I am offended by the dollar signs in the graphic. Otherwise, FUNNY!

ADVICE, PLEASE: Never bothered with the March Madness sale before, but just been shuffling through Jack Tomalin's store sale and the prices keep changing as I flip the pages. Is this normal?

I was ready to load up on a bunch of $1.99 stuff, but as soon as I popped an item into my shopping cart, all the prices jumped to $12!

Did you make sure you were logged in at the time of checkout? I have had the store tell me on one screen I was logged in but when I went to buy it thought I was not.

Never got as far as checkout since the prices jumped, but yeah, I was logged in the whole time.

It was weird. I was on about Page 3 of Jack's store and saw a string of items for $1.99, tossed one in my shopping cart, went there to check it and it was $12. Went back to Jack's store and the price had indeed gone up for all those items, but now the $1.99 price applied to a bunch of OTHER items!

So I changed the view preference from Most Recent to Price, and there was NOTHING for $1.99.

Madness. A bit maddening too, but I thought it was too good to be true. That's why I'm asking if this happens every March.

I too have seen that kind of behavior in the store. From my experience this kind of thing happens all of the time during sale events. Right around midnight DAZ time. I think da' Real Man runs DAZ at night and he likes to mess with your brain. You ever see something like that again just buy it then. Don't wait.

Did you not see the last two DAZ 3D newsletters about things. The titles read

    Day 8: Start Getting Mad

Day 9: Are You Mad Yet?

It's all a plot to send poor unsuspecting people round the bend, then they will come along and offer you nice white jackets with extra long sleeves, to help you stop spending money and thus protect your Credit Card from abuse

I would never say that dana.... but I could of sworn that I heard someone say *I'll get you my pretty... and your little dog too * just before the monkeys came in here and left their mess. Wasn't that green I say you covering up with makeup???? Maybe it was your friend.....

Well, I have no money, just a gift certificate from Jaderail that's shouting "Spend me now!"

But the white jacket sounds cool. At least I can look forward to that!

Well if you really do want to go shopping you could try closing Daz 3D, clearing you browser cache and then closing the browser as well, to make sure the clear takes place properly, then reopen your browser, log back into DAZ 3D site and try again.

Or evn try a hard refresh, to get a new instance of the page Ctrl+Shift+R.

you don't want to spend that gift certificate. Just forward it to me & I'll take care of it. That way you don't have to worry about changing store prices; whether you are logged in or not. You just have to relax & wait for that nice white jacket (I hear that the ends of the sleeves are closed to keep your hands warm).

One thing to keep in mind... The PA suffers when people take advantage of these mis-pricing things. It isn't just "sticking it to DAZ"... the individual/team who created the item gets stung as well.

I'd be pretty mad if that happened to me! >:-( But I haven't found the March Madness prices all that mad this year. And since I am broke, I really have no drive to even look at them much. Nothing has made me go...oooo!

Speaking of mad, my forum screen said at the top, "You have posted 200 times" and it sounded sort of angry, so I'll post again and see if it calms down a bit.

I'm going for my second entry with a whirl of the dial that gives me ...

    Chunk 001 from Meshworks
4eyes More Ground by ColonelPanic at Renderosity
and, um, "Cloud", which is an item just sitting in my runtime without a folder or any credit. It must be either Adam Thwaites or TrekkieGrrl. I shall have a look.

Hi all, sorry I got a bit distracted from 3D life...difficult trying to take care of a baby with GER and now teething, but I'm back at work so I can spend a bit of time being a slacker :-)

Question for how to randomly pick items. I tried the scrolling thing but I'm very OCD and my Runtime is super organized down into a hierarchy. For example, to find a random V4 texture, I have: Downloaded -> Figures -> Daz Figures -> V4 -> Characters -> Free Only -> Asian -> Nanami V4. Would it be uncool to print out the hierarchy, turn around, close my eyes, and then point at random points on the page? Unless someone else has an idea of how to export the Runtime hierarchy in some other way using software on the Mac...

if you use DIM (DAZ Install Manager) it can export a .csv file for you to open in Numbers (or excel), Otherwise I've been adding all my purchases to a numbers doc over the year when we're been running the RRRR (so I'm a little ahead of the herd when it comes to random).

II have no "utlimate solution", but you can use random.org, first roll 1-4 (figure, hair, prop, pose), then roll for the number of items in that list, roll for the number of different items (if different) in the one you got etc etc until you end up on an item.

    Cheers, random is fun!
    / Totte

    Making your random list.

Let your computer do it for you.
Use a free program to make it and Wordpad to edit it into something useable.

    Go here http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptdirprn.asp#Download

This will list everything in the directory including the sub-directories, to a text file.
To get your DAZ runtime look in, c:\program files\DAZ\Studio\content\Runtime
    For poser runtime look in, c:\program files\Curious Labs\Poser 6\Runtime
On win7 it would be c:\...\my library\...\runtime - replace the ... with the proper path names.

On my machine I have external runtimes for each character, Aiko, Hiro, Mike, Vicki and etc.
You must give each text file a different name.

Now you just have to open each text file with Wordpad, MsWord, Notepad or etc. and edit it.

It's simple to use, just remember to check the "omit comment, file, folder & total" boxes.

    Here is some sample output:

    You get the idea.
Now you must edit it down to make usable. Just delete everything you don't need.
Easy right? Hah! Good way to waist a few hours. :P
Delete everything but the .cr2, .hr2, .pz2 etc.
Then load it in the Randomizer program http://www.random.org/ and vola! your list.

//EDIT: I just want to add, that if you only save the folders and not the files, it will go a lot quicker, with less work on your part.
Just chose something from the random folder and go.
