There was mention of the Vascularity product. Is that ever going to be a merchant resource, like the Aging morphs?

  • Zev0Zev0 Posts: 7,089

Nothing stops somebody using it and having it listed as a product requirement. The reason it is not an official merchant resource is because the morphs are all HD, and not every seller has access to hd mod tools.

Some weirdness going on here (Windows 10). I saw the SB3 update in DIM when I was installing something else earlier and installed it since I was passing anyway. Then I started to create an additional make-up option in Photoshop, and noticed as soon as I went to save the associated files that the folders were looking a bit sparse. All the original SB3 files were gone, and all that was left were the few that I've created myself over the last few days. I fired up Daz to see if SB3 could see what I suddenly wasn't, thinking it would at least throw an error message or something, but I can't even pull the script up. The last time I used it was an hour or so before the update, and it was fine then. I know I haven't accidentally uninstalled it because I've checked with DIM and it thinks it's still installed. It's ages since I last went near the uninstall tab anyway. Is this happening to anyone else?

If you browse to the Skin Builder folder in a browser, the pdf''s are located under People\Genesis 3 Female\Materials\Skin Builder 3\Resources

Oh, I know that, just reporting a feature not working. Macs always needs a liitle bit more love. Thanks anyway.

By the way. Congratlulations! SB3 is a really an impressive product with nice features, easy learning curve and fast workflow. Love it!

Going back to SB3 to enjoy some funny times. ;-)

I updated with DIM - Windows 10 and everything is still there, including things I added & SB3 works the same as before

Perhaps you should try uninstalling in Dim & redownloading everything

I hope you get it working soon

Oh sure, but like your aging package has merchant resource so someone can use the details to influence textures. It'd be nice to be able to do that with vascularity, too.

Good thinking. I've just done that, and all seems to be fine now. A bit of an odd one, that. Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

Experimenting with getting an option for mascara tracks into Skin Builder. This tragic heroine weeps because her beloved bought SB3 the moment it was released, so consequently all she's seen of him for the last five days has been the back of his head.

The subfolders of Resources don't have any user-facing files, just .png's.

This is the coolest tool! Before I had no fantasy skin colors for 3Delight. Now I have plenty!

...but as can be seen in both screenshots, there are no .pngs at all. For example how would you apply Brow or Overlay (like freckles) settings if there is nothing in the folder to click on?  Why then even have that extensive folder tree?

  • fixmypcmikefixmypcmike Posts: 19,583

The plugin grabs textures from those folders, you don't click on them directly.

...but say I need to add freckles, how do I select the Overlay tools if there is nothing to click on?  SBP 2 had png's in the child folders that you clicked on to activate the various tools for creating brows, eyes, tan lines, etc?

Where do I find these if they are not in these folders?

You must only start the Scrippt (Skin Builder 3) i think under Tools... (At Work at the moment)..

You do it all through the script, Skin Builder 3. It has tabs for the various things and sometimes sub-tabs.

You select the right one, options if there are any, then 'apply <X>' button. And there you go.

...thank you. Did so and I see all the selections are in the SBP pane now. Just thought it strange to see a bunch of empty folders which usually means something went wrong with the install.

Just checking: The sliders for face and body vein styles are intended to be locked, correct? Each vein style has a single option?

Wish I'd time to actually play with it, especially before the competition starts

Yep! It was first mentioned here and expanded on here  by Zev0. Looking forward to seeing all the different skins.

Yes - but if you add more yourself the sliders should activate, which is why they're there at all.

Great! Thanks! Just wanted to make sure my installation was working right. Glad it is!

Yes:) But we also embeded instructions with the options inside the script so people will know what each option does.. But there will be a user guide.

Sadly, I can't seem to find said user guide. It's not installed with IM, could you provide a link for it?

You can get to the user guide by clicking the "View User's Guide" button on the first screen of SB3.

Also, unless you changed your default installation location, for a PC with Windows 10 it is installed in:

    "C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/People/Genesis 3 Female/Materials/Skin Builder 3/Resources/Skin Builder 3 UserGuide.pdf"

I created some veins myself, for when I was creating characters, can we add those to the package?

  • Zev0Zev0 Posts: 7,089

You can do so. You can even share them, but nothing from the actual product itself.

  • Have installed and uninstalled and redownloaded any times and this is what I get(see screen shot)
