Sigh... sorry - more stupid questions and this one I know I don't know the answer. My system just crashed. So it's back up and I see all the files in the temp folder. But what do I with them? Do I have to start over?

Unless your scene was saved where they were applied to the figure they are useless. If you didn't save the materials the only other backup was loading a scene that had the temp maps on at time of save.
They are saved as JPG to increase loading speed and also for packaging reasons. And no you cannot save as .png. There is no real advantage saving as .png unless you want textures to preserve transparency, which is not needed since there are no need for preserving layers and the texture images are baked anyways. Also .png would not give you better quality and would just increase file size.
Is it possible to add to the options? Like, with Veins, there's a slider bar... if I add vein textures, will it pick up on that and allow more options?
Did you read the tutorial? There is a section that explains how to add in options. So yes the product is designed where users can add options to the scripts.

Zev answered that question when I asked it way back on the first page of this thread:
I'm assuming that this will work basically the same as the G2F version, but with the g3F base UVs. With that in mind, the next logical questions are 1.) has any thought been given to creating a separate map for anatomical elements and 2.) since there were never any after the fact sets created for the original skin builder, is it too much to ask to have a blank "user created" setting option for the eyebrow and tan line generators and so on? I created a number of my own tan line elements for SB, as the ones that came with it didn't match most of the swimsuits I owned, and also thought the edges of the tanlines were a bit too sharply defined for my taste.
1. Already included.
2. If say the last brow is 30, if you name yours 31, it will auto load in script as long as format is the same as other brows. Regarding tanlines that is tough because of seamlines. But same principle. Name yours after the last known one provided, place in same folder and it will appear in script. We build the scripts so they will auto update when you add in your own custom options. Try it on the existing Skinbuilder, I think the script is also built with that feature to auto add in custom content. Just make sure it's named correctly and follows the last included option.
This delightfully approachable and friendly-looking creature was created by adding two options, each made within minutes using one of Ron's brushes. I added them to the Brows folder because I couldn't think where else to put them, but I can always move them if I think of somewhere more appropriate. I could do with some wrinkles (something I never thought I'd hear myself say!) and am glad to hear they're in the pipeline. Other than that, I think the only real limit to these scripts is with the user's imagination. What an amazing product.
Up next is Brenda. I wanted to add her to the thread in case potential purchasers saw it and thought the product was only of any use to those wanted a fantasy skin, which is what most of us seem to be doing. I'm loving seeing what everyone else is coming up with :) I did do quite a nice darker skin, but forgot to save it (doh!) and only have a fairly distant render of the figure in a sitting position.
Brenda's not bad, but after creating freckles that were much too prominent during my early attempts, I think I've gone too far the other way with this one and maybe cranked the visibility down a bit much. You can have the freckles etc as visible as you want to. I've been mucking about with this hugely versatile product during every spare moment since I got it (as well as a few that weren't really spare at all!) and can't praise it highly enough.
Thanks you for a great wee tool, I been hacking away at the learning curve and having fun, I got a long way to go I'm new to Daz as well as this, screwed up a bunch buying the wrong gear for the bodies I have and trying to get my head round it all. One thing I did get was a morph pack to make monsiters and beast race's, I'm trying my hand at make me a Daz Khajiit/Pantera, I got a char with the claws and cat like feet and made a dark blueish base skin and she's looking not bad I had brought !Blend before I found this and was using it to blend skins from both Agata and Ceridwen, but not sure I can use those blend with this, some of the markings and tattoo's are guite neat, the other thing that would be nice as a feature I think is a means to pull some hairs/furs in for beast race's to blend over the skin with a option the blend/fade out some bare spots like bellies knee's stc where fur would maybe not grow. Any way thanks again for the tool. all I need now is a good crop of dark Panther fur on this lass and shes good to go. Yes I know she needs a pos and a whole lot of other TLC, baby steps for this learner right.
Thinking of creating some scale patterns to add into the thing. ;)
The first thing I did with the original Skin Builder was crate a bunch of new tanline options, both to better match the various swimsuits I owned and to make versions with softer edges. I'll no doubt be doing that again, though thankfully, Zev & Crew added the softer edge option this time around. The other things will probably be to make some multi-pass layer eyebrows so that they have a bit more color variation, as well as additional freckle and vein textures.
And my second one, this tool is really great. Thank you very much.
I love this one!
Me too! The eyes are the only thing that look even slightly unrealistic (not sure if SB can add those little red eye details). Otherwise, looks like a real person!

@Zev0, love this already. I have read the pdf but still not clear on how you are able to use SB3 to enhance your favorite skins. I see the example for the brows but are you adding the skin textures from your favorite character to the skin folder in the runtime/textures/skinbuliderGF3MR/skin folder? Are adding just the base skin or are you adding the bump and spec too? Do you remove the eyebrows from from the face before saving to the folder? Finally how does SB3 find the textues you've added and how will this appear in the interface, will an icon be assigned because unlike the brows in the pdf example, there is no folder in resourses for the skin. Thanks for a great product.

I have a question. I bought this a few days ago and absolutely LOVE IT. Now, when I have the g3F genital prop applied, and then build a skin, when I try to add genital hair, I get an issue. It does not apply it to the genital prop, but only the base that it;'s building. Is there a way around this? Like, would I be able to apply the generated genital hair texture to the genital prop? And if so, how would I do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cayman Studios has a free geograft UV set that allows you to use the torso maps from any G3F UV skin on the G3F Anatomical Elements. It's available in the Renderosity Free section under the name Torso UV's For G3F Anatomical Elements.

That should work. That is how the temp system was designed.

Got a little more fanciful on this one...
I like that one:) In the week I will be setting up the render competition.
Ok, I'm a dumbmule. My bad. ;)
Again, enjoying the heck out of this...
(Been working on an alien gray for a while today... hopefully will have it ready soon)
Ended up going with a flat white texture to start with and tweaking from there (wasn't happy with any nipple/navel removing options)
And lo!

Although I bought this as soon as it was available, I haven't used it yet .
I must say though, that the examples folks are showing are really wonderful and tremendously encouraging!
Congratulations (and adulation) to Zev0 and Discobob. A fabulous tribute for Draaagonstorm.

The tutorial/user guide is where, exactly?
The doc page ( http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/41613/start ) has no links to anything, neither does the store page. I've done some searches in Documentation/Readmes in my folders and can't find anything that looks right.
Meep?
(And 'product support' link in the products directory just takes me to this thread)

The pdf is in the people/Genesis 3 Female/materials/skin builder 3/resources file and scroll all the way down
