    It's a nice enough set of freebies. Cheers to that! Truth is, the last set was spectacular. It all surely beats multiple outfit textures for outfits I don't own. >_>

    First October set of freebies! (October & November challenge eligible) There's a G8F character! Most of the remainder are Genesis 1 & 2, plus a couple G3 and an environment. Not as good as some of the other recent sets, but still nice. I will probably pick up the outfits and environment. Undecided on the G8 character since I don't have Olympia 8. (I know I can still use the skin.)

    Love me a ginger; here's Jared's skin.
    I set translucency to 0.6 and the colour in the translucency channel to 0.744530 / 0.284452 / 0.166872
    Added body hair and additional scruff. Morph is unrelated.

    Just a quick note to folks that although the Supersuit Troopers free this week is a texture add-on, there are some straight-up shaders included in there. So even if you have no interest in the product itself, you might want to pick it up for those.

    Those shaders will be for 3DL, not Iray or Filament, since Supersuit is a G1 product. That said, I do have Supersuit and several add-ons (not Troopers) and they do have very nice shaders if you want to convert/tweak.

    Same here. I know there are some people who dismiss G3 as "too old" or even "ancient," but I still get a lot of use out of my G3 stuff and am happy to add to it as much of it works well with later generations.

    I don't do a lot of goth but I do love the boots & gloves in Queen of Shadows; the former I might use in my freebie challenge idea.

    G3 has a lot to recommend it. Not least is its compatibility with and easy transfer to g8, if desired

    I regularly search the store using the filter "Price Low to High" which shows all the free stuff. However, I appreciate this thread as sometimes I forget to do the search.

    Alexi and Annie's skin. Different morphs, different eyes, and in Annie's case different makeup and nails. But the skin itself is without any tweaks. I like them both a lot!

    I find the shaders in the sets I have look good with just a base Iray shader applied, so I expect this will be the same. Troopers also includes a helmet that can probably be autofitted. And bein Genesis, it will work in DS.

    I am really happy too. The G3 stuff always strikes me as G8.-1, and is easily used on G8 by autofit, character conversion script etc & the materials are (unless heirachical) usually directly usable on G8.

    It's safe getting these freebies? I see a lot of products getting the wrong license these last days, I would like to avoid having some editorial licensed stuff in my library.

    Why would it not?

    They don't have EL and outside of the four G9 items that were added a year ago, all freebies are old items, usually at best for Genesis 3, that were released long before EL was introduced.

    FYI, this year, the PA holiday freebies are only available on the day they are released, not for several days, as in the past. Hopefully there will be a catch up for them, but I wouldn't count on it.
