Short buzzed men's hair that ISN'T Receding?

I could really use some men's short buzzed hair that doesn't have the thin hairline look. I have what's in the store for the modern figures, but they all seem to be sparse in the front and to make the character look like he is going prematurely bald. I don't mind that look for some characters, but it isn't always what I'm looking for. Perhaps a hairstyle with a thicker skullcap? Or at least some with more forehead morphs would be welcome so I could adjust the way the hairline looks.

Not sure how it would work on really short styles, but shouldn't Nadion's Forehead minimizer help out?

I highly recommend Laticis' Really Short Hair. It's a free add-on released with Real Short Hair and available over on Laticis' Deviant Art site. It fits well on newer figures too (just don't use the Real short hair cap, fit the hair directly to the character.

@REDZ: Thanks Redz. I like and own that hair, but I don't see a licensing agreement for the freebie version. I admit, I don't download freebies I can't use commercially, since I've been burned before.. But it looks cool. The issue really is that a lot of the buzzed hairs do not have morphable hairlines. It is sort of a one sized fits all. But it ends up looking odd on some characters.

@MJC I have Nadino's forehad minimizer. I'm not sure it will fix the problem but at least it will move things around a bit.

I think what is truly needed is a customizable scalp product. Not every hairline is the same and making it more adjustable would be useful. Hairs also need to have a darker scalp skullcap option so they don't look quite so mangey.

You know, you could use LAMH and pretty much paint whatever browline you want.

(I'd suggest using a Genesis hair cap, easier to work with)

And since the hairs are really short, you don't have to do much with them.

I admit, i messed around with LAMH, but did not enjoy it too much. I'd much rather buy the item I need.

The Real Short Hair itself, with the shorter morphs, doesn't work for what you need? Since the main product is sold here, it should have a commercial license. And you could always just ask Laticis at dA or PM him here to see if commercial use is allowed. (It seems unlikely that an expansion for a product that allows commercial use would not itself be allowed for commercial use, but you never know.)

Have you tried the Master Skull Cap product by 3Dream at Renderosity? I don't know if it has a morphable hairline -- haven't used it in ages, but remember it not having a huge number of morphing options -- but it might do for what you need.

There's also an older M4 item by Hellboy Soto ("commercial renders OK") that might work, although the hairs are notably thicker than most fibermesh today -- it is a few years old. It loads into the Poser runtime, but it's easy enough to use.

  • Stumbled onto this thread searching for details relating to LAMH and Iray...

@ Serene Night - You can use it for commerical renders, animations or gaming and the same with all my freebies, the only thing I dont like is others try to resell others freebies :)

    Cheers Laticis
