@melaniel...an Abstraction of Trees... It's just beautiful ...really lovely ...suitable for framing...
@hansmar.. like I said I look forwared to your comments... they are honest and to the point and it's as if you know I can do better... and for that I thank you... I completely understand wanting to move onto other things... the last challenge killed me that way...
@vivien... Against All Odds is terrifically poignant for me... Last year's Rough Fire devastated thousands of acres near here and there are occasional survivors such as this... Great render
@firephoenix...Protection is an awsome render... I really love it and the concept
@yellowpen...The giant tree of Angkor Wat render is a great representation... love the perspective
thank you melanieL and mtnmen
@yellowpen : that's a beautiful render
Here is my re-do of A Universal Treeth
Chohole...Please make this my first entry..
I think it better represents what I was trying to convey... But now, Hansmar... it's time to move onto somethng else...
Yellow Pen - that's quite a tree with roots. Excellent.
mtnmen - I agree, now it looks as if there was a huge space inside the trunk, not an egg bulging out of it (though it's still a nice artwork).
@vivien: Thanks. NIce work on your second entry.
@FirePhoenix: Welcome to the forum. Great first entry! Very surreal.
@Yellow Pen: Well, for 'not having an idea', you made a great render!
@mtnmen: Yep, looks better now. Horo made a good point, which I did not recognise. Now it is inside the tree, while it looked outside before. By the way, I might still decide to modify my Mother tree; there still is time...
@vivien: My thanks. Now you say so: watercolour fits my render well. Quite some colours in the water
Thank you Mtnmen, Fire Phoenix, Horo and Hansmar, for your nice comments
A Fairytale was kissing me.... so I'll show my second entry here:
Fairytale Forest.
mtnmen - thank you! And your revised Universal Treeth is definitely better - that was a really interesting idea.
Yellow Pen - that Angkor Wat tree looks rather well, but I love the atmosphere of your Fairytale Forest, it's really pretty.
Thank you Melanie
And, what's happened to you with your first render - forgot to save - would happened to every Brycer sometimes I think.....
Nice Pictures you've show us here.
This is my 2nd entry. A recent discovery of glowing cave trees. It has 2 terrains, 7 radial lights, 5 trees and some stones.

@Yellow Pen: More nice comments for you: your second render is very nice indeed!
@vangogh: I do like the fluorescent trees. But, as the whole render is concerned, I am confused. Due to the colours and tones (light and dark) I can't really see what is front and back. Specifically the blueish side on top. Is that on top of the green/brown part of the cave in the middle? Perhaps even partly behind it? Or is it in front (and above)? Without the trees, it would be a very interesting abstract. But this version does not really work well for me. Maybe it is just me and you (and perhaps others) are very happy with this render, so, of course, it is fuly up to you what to do with my comments.
The remark by mtnmen on my last version of the Mother tree, did keep nagging in my head. So, I decided to give it another, last, go. Here is my last version. I made the roots less visible. Took some trial and error. And I think this version is better than the last one.
Pam: This is the version I intend to be in the contest! (Unless someone convinces me that there is still something to do.....)
Double post again... but now with full size render.
Hansmar - thank you again
I love your mother tree. This one here is really beautiful.
Yellow Pen - the Fairytale Forest is beautiful.
vangogh - the glowing cave trees are interesting. I have no difficulty with the cave but I think some shadows would help.
Hansmar - your mother tree looks really very good to me.
Yellow Pen -Both The Angkor Wat and Fairytale Forest are awesome
Mtnmen - the re-do of the trunk looks much better.
Vangogh - your second entry looks very nice, very surreal.
Hansmar - this render of the Mother Tree is beautiful.
thank you mermaid
I made one more, this is my last entry:
The one and only
@Yellow Pen, Horo, mermaid010: Thank you
@Yellow Pen, I like it. Could you perhaps put some more light on the tree, to make it stand out more? E.g. some extra specular? For me, the scene already is very good, but I would like more attention on the tree.
Thanks for your tipp, Hansmar. Of course, I'll try this ans show it here
Yellow Pen – your last entry is really nice, love the atmosphere.
I was inspired by a poster I saw a while ago for my second entry.
Strengthening each Other
A really nice Idea Mermaid... and well done.
So, here comes my corrected last entry. Hansmar, thanks again :-)
(Chohole, please take this here for the last)
The one and only.
Yellow Pen - The one and only tree is beautiful and the corrected one even more so.
Mermaid - very nice idea with strengthening each other.
thank you Horo
Thanks Yellow Pen and Horo
Yellow Pen - the re-render One and only is much better.
@mermaid010: What a great idea and very well done too!
@Yellow Pen: You're very welcome. The re-ender makes the tree stand out more.
My second: reality what we think is reality
Hansmar- thanks
Vos -very nice render - adding the different elements gives a sea/land feel to the render, awesome idea.
thank you Mermaid and Hansmar
vos - I like the mixture of realism and surrealism. Cool idea and nicely done.
@vos: very nice and original render. Good colours too.
I re-rendered my 2nd entry increasing the Fov, replacing the one I did earlier
Strengthening each Other
