Error opening file

Hello, is anyone having problems saving their file? I installed it again from DAZ, but when I try to save it and close the program and open it again, the file I saved appears as an error message and it says "file is damaged"

I am not folowing - you say you installed it again again from Daz and then save it to get an error, but what is it? Or are you rferring to multiple things? Have you checked to see if there is a fuller error message in the log (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log File)?
Hi, the same thing happens to me. I saved the file but when I open the program again, the saved file shows an error opening file.
A day ago I was finishing a scene and when I saved the file and closed the program again, when I re-entered daz3d, the file I saved showed me an error opening file. Well, I thought it was about uninstalling and reinstalling daz3d, but the same thing happens. I can't save the file because now it shows me as "error opening file."
Now when I open a file from this ad I get "error opening file" an error occurred while reading the file, see the log file for more detail
A file from what ad?
Did you have the option to compress the file (if it was a scene) active when you saved? Sometimes disc issues or the like cause the compression to miss a byte, making the compressed file unreadable.
It's not just about pressing save and the file starts saving but when you open it, the error message opening file appears.
Attach your DS log.
I get this ad from yesterday when I try to save a file
Check and attach your DS log ...... or attach the Scene file if you don't mind.

I only open DAZ, for example, I just put a model without anything and saved it, but when I open the sale, there is an error opening the file.
The scene file seems corrupted.
Try saving the scene file to another disk...
Hi, I tried it but I get the same thing. I hope the program is restored in the following days.
Does anyone have a SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH SAVING NEW FILES IN THEIR DAZ PROGRAM?
Yes, it lets me open old files, but after the date of February 21, 2025, the program does not let me save new files. I hope that as the days go by it will fix itself.
Why didn't you attach the scene file in here so that we may help to check ?
The file does work but when I save it it comes out damaged. I don't know why. I already checked and in my program it is wrong.
How have you checked? It may be possible to figure out waht is going wrong, rather than just get the general error message (which is not an "ad"). if you upload it. I would suspect, however, that this is a system issue (e.g. disc issue or some kind of utlity, most likely security software, interfering with the data written) or possibly saving the wrong type of file. However, without more information (ideally a saved file that shows the issue) this is pure guesswork.
Hi, here I am sending a Dropbox link so you can see the files. One works but the other doesn't and it is recent.https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/02uzm8mncpamtoccm8sbx/AISkQWm9Kb_oXa1XgEL8xDQ?rlkey=fem3kfwhn314v6mfq4z19tru8&st=gei2ceix&dl=0
The log for the one that fails says
I also get complaints, when opening the files in TextPad having decompressed them, that they both contain characters that do not exist in the standard character set. My guess would be that a character in a path or other name is confusing the parser - given that it is the file with the in-scene geometry I would suspect the issue is a group or surface name in that.
What could I do, open a new path folder for daz
Your author name in the files seems not able to be interpreted correctly, more likle " character was missing while saving the file~~. Do you use some uni-codes as your Author Name ? Press F2 in DS and check it ~~
I added " character in the end of the Author line, in the file archive.duf, then I could open it.
There's no " missing in the file jnkjknj.duf, so you could open it.
Suggest you use ASCII codes for setting your Author name.
I have been using daz3d for 3 years but I always save my files for example in a folder in downloads or video but suddenly the application, I don't know what happened, the strange thing is I have no problems opening old files, but I do have problems saving recent files now, the path of the daz3d folder is the same since I started using that application
I'm going to see what I found and the conclusion that it could be the path of the files when searching, I'm going to try to put it in a new path to see what happens
Can you explain to me how I do it?
Check above screenshot I attached. Firstly define a better Author Name in Preferences (press F2 in DS) by using ASCII code.
Then if you want to open the problematic DUF file, for instance archive.duf, firstly uncompress the DUF file via: Windows > Panes > Batch Convert. Then open the file with Notepad++. Go to code line 8, check the line above it, add a " character before the comma. Save the file. Then you can open it.
See the below screenshot.
Hi, thanks for the information, but it seems like it pressed a clear button and deleted all my files, hahaha. It doesn't matter, I'll start over in the future with DAZ. It does give me the same problem, but thank you very much for the help.
