Checkerboard

I am looking for a checkerboard, checkers game in progress, to be placed on a small table. I can find chess boards and other board games, but no checkers. Any suggestions?

Would a chess board with vertically scaled cylinder primitives work? In 3delight you could add a Shader Mixer shader using the Wave pattern to get the lathed look of real draughts pieces, in Iray you'd need to make a custom map (and would need a fairly high level of sub division if you needed to see it as displacement rather than a normal map).

You could easily find a texture online (or make your own).

And I agree, you could make a cylinder primitive for the pieces. If this is for a close-up render and you need something with more detail, let me know (via PM) and I could whip something up for you tonight.
