dForce Neo-Victorian Outfit - the bodysuit is only a Geoshell :(

As the title says: the dForce Neo-Victorian Outfit, while looking cool and offering several nice accessoires, has only a geo shell as a "bodysuit", which isn't mentioned in the description. Because I got it greatly reduced and because I really like the accessoires, I will not return the product. But I'm a bit disappointed that such a - imho - important detail wasn't mentioned.

I bought it too and, like you, I appreciate the look, but I think that information should have been included.

As a product maker I am curious what the problem is that you see with the geo-shell. It is a very useful way to have body-suits that follow characters shapes perfectly, unlike mesh body suits that can bunch up or clip in odd ways depending on poses

  • As I understand it - please correct me if I'm wrong - it's fifficult to fit geoshells to a different generation of character, making them less flexible if you use more than one generation.

You cant fit geoshells to a different generation..the shells are generated off the figure itself. That is why they fit so well and are so useful

So, using a Gen8 geoshell underwear on Gen9 is not possible. That makes it less flexible to some users, even if it fits Gen8 better & more easily, and might be beneficial to know prior to purchase for those to whom it is important.

I would feel misled by a product that labels something as a bodysuit in the "What's included and Features" if it was a textured geoshell. It's also a dForce product, which isn't going to apply to the the geoshell.

It's usually possible between Genesis 8 and 3 and when it's working, it's even easier than using a Genesis 8 geoshell on Genesis 8.1: you just have to remember to turn the Eyelashes surface off in the geoshell to avoid the eyelashes being white.

Here's an example with a Genesis 8 geoshell on Genesis 3 (I don't know if I have a product with a Genesis 3 geoshell to test the opposite way but I suppose it should work too):

It's not a certainty and as an example, the bodysuit of the Winter Trenchcoat didn't work (it seems to be using it's own UV instead of the 'Base Female' UV and I don't know if it's possible to use the Map Transfert tool to transfert the bodysuit UV map to 'Base Female').

Edit: I found a G3 freebie using Geoshell and from my limited testing, it's working fine on Genesis 8.

Most of all it's the lack of options to make the clothing behave like real clothing - especially when trying to picture the removal of the clothing. wink With a mesh body one can often (!) at least use dForce to get it in a state of undress. With a geoshell it's on or off...

I won't say that geo-shell clothes are bad per se, as the advantages you mentioned make them interesting for many people. But they usually (!) don't suit my needs and if I had known that the mentioned product came as a geo-shell, I might have decided to not spend my money for it. In the end, I paid for the parts of the product that interested me the most anyway (aka the accessoires)

    ok...thanx for sharing

I used geo-shells for the bodysuits on my recent super hero guy release (though clearly mentioned as a geoshell), as I found it to be so useful for that kind of thing.

It is useful for that sort of thing, yes. That said, it's a good idea to tell people that it's a geoshell rather than a standard clothing item -- and you absolutely did, which is great. Others sometimes do not, which appears to be the case here.
