Iray is not rendering at all and someting Daz is freezing my pc

I have Ryzen 5 1600, Gtx 1060 6gb, 16gb of ram, i reinstalled Daz, older a newer versions, updated gpu drivers, downgrade them too, nothing works.

I can play games without problems. Iray works randomly sometimes

    16GB of system RAM isn't much, and 6GB of video RAM on a non-RTX card is not going to do anything (my 1660 Super drops out with just a naked  figure)

  • if you want to run DAZ AND RENDER YOUR MODELS INTO THOSE NICE 2D images you will need an Intel Core i9 14th Generation processor

     24-Core CPU Go with DDR5 64 to 128 RAM NVDIA GeForce RTX 4090 VIDEO CARD  Liquid Cooling system SSD, HDD.

    You will need this to properly do DAZ Studio renders. If you dont have a power systen you will always have problems rendering with DAZ.

    As Richard mentioned, 6GB VRAM is really not enough. From your DS log, you ran out of VRAM... Because you didn't check Allow CPU Fallback, you rendering process was stopped by Iray Engine.

    You either optimize your Scene (e.g. by using Scene Optimizer), check Allow CPU Fallbact so as render with CPU or consider ugrading your card.

    I would double the system ram if you can then check the Paging File on your discs and set it to System Managed but None on your Windows drive and see if that helps.

    I think this is a bit of overkill here. I'm glad no one told me something like this before I tried to create the two images below, I might not ever have tried (not really, but it works as an analogy). The first image below was done on a RTX 3070 (mobile) with 8Gb of RAM. Scene Optimizer definitely helped to make everything fit on the GPU (three G8 figures). The only way a 24 Core CPU will really help with DS is if your scene can't fit on the GPU. Oh, the image below was done on a laptop with a i9-9900K (8 cores).

    This image (below) was done on a laptop with a GTX 970M with 6Gb and a 4 core intel processor. With the current version of Iray and Genesis 9 I'm not sure this could be done today on a GPU with 6Gb of RAM due to the RTX emulation overhead and greater memory requirements with newer models (this image has two G3 and one G2 figure).  I'm also not saying these are the best images anyone could create, just that the quoted requirements above might be a bit greater than what is really needed.

    In addition to some of the excellent advise given above, if you can't afford to increase system RAM and upgrade to an RTX GPU with a bare minimum of 8Gb (I would consider 32 Gb the bare minimum for system RAM, more if you get a GPU with more than 8Gb), you might want to try using Scene Optimizer and keep you output image size/resolution fairly small (1080P or smaller). Unless you images are rendered at a very high resolution, or are very close to the figures, most textures can be reduced without a noticeable reduction in quality. This would be the easiest and most cost effective was to continue to use your current system.

    Another option would be to use Octane Render (Otoy has a free tier for the plugin for DS). Octane can use system RAM for scene data if everything doesn't fit on your GPU (know as out of core rendering). You might still experience some slow performance due to the amount of system RAM you have (using the Paging File on your hard drive might really slow performance). This would also require quite a bit of shader work to get things looking as good as they do in Iray.

    If you can wait and get Scene Optimizer on sale, this might be the most cost effective way to be able to use your GPU for rendering, but it will probably restrict you to fairly simple scenes.

    You don't need the latest and greatest and biggest and best to render in Iray.

    My CPU is generations old and I7, not I9 (Intel I7 8700K).
    My motherboard has only PCIE 3.
    I have 32 GB system RAM.
    My graphics card is NVIDIA RTX 3080 with 10GB video RAM. (2 generations old now that the 5000 series is coming out.)
    This system is adequate, but not optimum for me.
    I use System Optimizer when necessary for large scenes. If a scene won't fit on my graphics card, I optimize it until it does fit.
    Here is an image I rendered recently with this system. The tenements outside the window are a 2D image in the Environment Pane. The room and everything inside are 3D models.

    (That is our beloved forum moderator, Richard Haseltine, winning at the poker table. I'm dealing the cards.)
