I think the possibilities of Daz 3d is extremely good, but i was surprised to find the lack of clothing and costumes for the models. The fun of having an Action Man or a Barbie Doll, which ever was your thing, was the dressing up in different outfits.
Maybe I haven't found the costume store, but are there, or is anyone working on historically acurate uniforms? I am particularly interested in English infantry between 1600-1800s.
Thanks so much.

Believe me, Richard, having accurate or even practical costumes is something that many of us want. It's been a long lament that so many items are impractical skimpwear - where's our cool movie costumers?! How many heroines do you know go running off on an adventure in 4-5 inch heels with half their butts showing? And why isn't there much clothing for men (or children for that matter)?
As you browse around the forums, you will run into what disappoints many of us: they make what sells, and that's mostly skimpwear. You need to do a lot of searching to find historical items. They are out there from Michael 4 to Michael 7.
You may have to broaden your search beyond DAZ 3D to find what you want. Besides that, you may have to learn to make your own clothing. Another option is what is known as "kit-bashing," which is putting together items from different packages and then giving them different textures.
All that said, there is Luthbel's Corsair for Genesis. It's a very nice Naval captain uniform.

You could put together a crew using Buccaneer and Pirate, and there is a model for the HMS Victory that is really nice.

Good luck.
PhilC has these available:

and these over at Rendo:

Actually give all the styles, men and women's, worldwide over the centuries, and this war and fighting obsession, it is surprising that those and a lot of other such clothing haven't been made available. LOL, even the modern fighters are wearing bikinis and loin clothes in most of the products I see in the store.
There are similar uniforms that you can use to help yourself get started, although they are a mix of various time periods and nationalities:

As you see though those are mostlly modern and American although from the looks of the old European battle uniforms it looks like you could easily enough modify the buccaneer / admiral uniforms from the various pirate products in the store.
This vendor has a pretty good set of what I think are English & French soldiers of the 1800s but they are in toon style and probably not accurate although I think of the European war theatre from the 1600s to the 1800s when I see them.
