This is happening so much now, at least it feels like this to me. Famous, significant people from my past, who I and my friends enjoyed and learned from, keep leaving. I feel like sometime soon, I'm going to happen to glance down at my feet, and discover that my shoes, socks and feet, are missing. I don't dare look away, though, or else more of me may become erased.
That's how important these people were to many of us, at least within my band of friends, and my friends in bands;-)

Peter, Paul & Mary were an important part of my teenage years. (Along with many other bands or groups.)

I was a little kid when they were popular in the '60s, but my oldest brother had many of their albums. I enjoyed hearing their music.

Mr. Yarrow's music was a style that I simultaneously was familiar with as a soundtrack to the 60's and not familiar with.  It was interesting to see that his passing coincided with the passing of Jimmy Carter who commuted his sentence.

“A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys... painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys...”

This lyric preceded John Lennon’s comment about not singing “She Loves You” when he is 40, and like its antecedent it bothered me way back when. A lot!

    sad

It made me cry in my heart.

Like everyone, I am mourning the passing of all the touchstones of my childhood, teens, and young adult years. So much wonderful talent from the 1920s-1940s were available on 'FREE' broadcast TV stations that I knew them as well as my parents, along with the 1950s to 1980s. Military service overseas and then after I retired in 1994, my civilian job took so many hours (10 - 14 hours a day), there was little time to pay attention to TV, movies, and after all the cable/streaming splits I am ignorant of most of modern culture in America now.

Today I heard music I listened to in the 1970s described as 'Yacht Rock'. I don't think I ever heard that term before for what was known as 'soft rock' then.
