DIM crashes when installing product updates

For the past week I have had a weird issue with DAZ Install Manager. It would seem to freeze whenever I tried to install a product update such that i would have to kill the task and restart DIM. After a few attempts i could get the update installed. However there is no issue with installing new items.

That sounds like security software, e.g. an anti-ransomware tool, trying to protect your files

That computer just uses Windows Defender for Windows 11.

Does that keep a log of its actions?

You could uninstall and delete the packages, if it will let you, then reinstall from a new download - if it will let you. Test with a small product

Richard tried that and it worked. I had to uninstall, then remove the download then re-sync DIM so I would get a fresh listing to download from the server. This is annoying.

BTW, I forgot to mention that this issue did not happen on my "render-only" PC which run Windows 10 and also uses Windows Security app for Windows 10. My main PC is Windows 11.

BBTW, thank you for your suggestions. It is always nice to get constructive support. smiley

Hopefully this problem will auto-magically disappear on next Windows or DIM update.
