Looks like default environment map problem has been addressed, no more DTHDR_RuinsB_500 in the map channel by default. I know a few people who will be happy about that. Haven't tried it yet, but it is in the change log (4.23.1.2)

I'm happy to see the improvements of SpotRender as well as its supporting local dimension on Cameras.

Question:  "Auto Save" pluglin has not been included in this version ?

Unfortunately, low performance issue of loading / deleting Camera and Lights is not improved or solved ~~~ ( screenshot 1 & 2 )

When launching this latest version and opening About Installed Plugins... the application is still "shaking" and "flashing" with those small windows / widgets instantly-shown... No such issue in DS 4.22. The video even couldn't 100% capture the issue, too fast "flashing"... https://mega.nz/file/WOQkTawB#tKlj-w1alhtJ7kNUXRGKL-xd55aOcEOwsFM-1eMw7KE Change log said Improved population of the “About Install Plugins” dialog, but I saw no improvement.

I like the more contrasty look for the text.

But I wonder why the color option for was removed for Parameters > General. Coloring of the individual parameters can help faster to identify the one you are looking for.

And it is annoying that it in surfaces jump back to start, if you change to another surface, or you are changing a parameter to give more options, e.g. setting Metallic Flakes to a non 0 value.

  • The AutoSave plug-in appeared in my downloads just now, maybe it was missed last night.

This looks so sharp and clean now on my 3440 x 1440 Monitor now (before the text was soft). I love the updated Theme Colors too. and Open Recent files is back! which was missing on my last version.

Yea, right now !  Thanks, Richard !

My only minor concern with the updated theme the parameters X, Y, and Z now all the same color instead of being red, blue, and green. Additionally, I would like to request the feature to place the timeline bar at the bottom, similar to its position at the top.

shame iray 2024.0.4 update was reverted, the changes seem quite promising from Iray's own changelog (lots of interactivity speedups etc). looking forward to it.

Go to Window>Style>Customise. Under group 5 3D Axes you an edit the colours (alt-click to reset), then you can use Window>Style>Save Style As to store the changes for future use.

You can use the tab to drag the Timeline out of the current pane group/dock. Once it is free-floating, use the top bar to drag it down until you see a line of high;ight colour in the docking area you want, then release the mouse to dock. (Draging the tab moves the pane, dragging the top bar moves the group - which mat contain more than one pane). You can then save the layout via Window>Workspace>Save Layout

And I tried and it works well... so far so good. However, I already have the habit of pressing Ctrl + S from time to time... as a routine broken heart  I doubt if I really need it ~~cheeky

Oh wow it actually worked this time. it would always glitch out and take over 80% of the workspace and every time I would try and adjust the cell size it would only take up more space making the viewport tiny. Thank you Richard!

    That is not correct.

In Style you can change overall colors.

But in Parameters > General X, Y and Z values had different colors, and is no longer an option, as the color bars from  property options no longer is present for that group.

The crashes when loading complex scenes had been fixed? I don't see anything in the changelog.

I see other user have same issue, so it's not something related only to me.

However it always works on my side, as well as in latest PB version ~~

    I reinstalled latest beta.

Are you saying that you have the color option for the Parameter > General section?

Same here before with the previous Beta

it could crash just when you canged to another camera.

thats scenes with over 30gb of ram use.

im using the latest beta now you just need to test it

    no crash yet.

Also is there a way to get rid of this new "Dark Mode" ?

it may look better at night but its too dark if you work in daytime

  • Ok this version is seriously broken -- not only a simple dForce hair simulation takes 2 min 33 sec (almost 5x slower) on RTX 4090, it also seems to affect geograft on the figure which has collision and smoothing modifier enabled by deforming it. The defromation is "fixed" by doing a Zero Figure Pose.

  • Ooof... also clicking on a surface in Surfaces -> Editor always resets the scroll position of the surface property list to the top. You wanted to flip back and forth between two surfaces to compare dForce settings? No can do anymore.

No, not in there ~ As Richard mentioned, go to Window > Style > Custmize Style, in 5. 3D Axis, change the colors.

Seting the colours to their default values affects the sliders for me - try Window>Workspace>Update and merge Menus, if you haven't, though I don't think that would matter for slider display.

I had overlooked the new Axis options in Style blush

How do you roll back to previous betas?

i cant stand this dark mode and harch NEON colors.

this is not healthy for your eyes.

Edit: Settitng back colors to default was easy

    just select window/style/customize style

    select default and accept

    Much calmer now :)

  • Yes, it's a new (and optional) set of colours rather than a full new style.

Yes, it was simple enought to just say no, when it offered me the chance to try it when I opened the new beta for the first time. I already have a customized style that I prefer to use.

Not as a result of changes to dForce itself. Are you comparing it to a previous beta or the general release? The latter will have separate, and therefore possibly different, settings (though the defaults are the same, unless you are using a startup file to alter them).
