How to make a knot in Marvelous Designer?

My knot is always loose, not firm or tight.

Do you have suggestion how to make it firm?

Yes, just manually tie the knot by adding Pins when dragging the pattern in 3D viewport... Then the knot can be much tighter.

    sort of this example https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8858346/#Comment_8858346

As the example shown in the screenshots, the trick is : drag to tie the knot tighter and Pin, then drag and Pin ~~ till you're satisfied with it. Then finetune the final result.

does making PD smaller help?  It will increase the self-colision

There are videos on youtube for making knots.
You can also buy pre-made knots for MD on artstation.

As long as you Pin the mesh well, you can tie a good knot. I ever learnt the tricks from this tutorial : https://youtu.be/BxMLr3wUmF8?si=8ImdJ5pCnrErHPDG
