Change Default IRAY Preview Tonemapping Settings (Burn and Crush)

Just wanted to discuss but recently my IRAY default tonmapper settings have changed. I dont know if its because I updated DAZ or I installed some new content but the Burn Highlights and Crush Blacks settings have changed from 0.25 and 0.2 to 1 and 0 respectively. I really enjoyed these old defaults as a baseline to seeing how my characters and environments would look before any real render setting changes just as a baseline. Its not a big deal to change these by myself but having to do it every time I create a new character or scene is a bit annoying. Ive tried changing the default settings in the parameters but nothing is permament and everytime I open daz the settings go back to 1 and 0. I was just wondering if anyone knows what could have caused this and is there any permanent fix other than manually doing this every time I create a new scene.

Thanks in advance if anyone is willing to help me out on this.

  • Set them up as you wish in an empty scene, save that scene, then in Edit>Preferences (Daz Studio>Preferences for a Mac) go to the Startup and Scene tabs and set that scene to load automatically.

They were changed with Daz Studio 4.23 (I think), to get Iray and Filament closer to each other in the default setting:

    • Source maintenance

    • Updated Tonemapper Options node property default values to improve alignment between Filament and NVIDIA Iray

      • Burn Highlights

      • Crush Blacks

DAZ Studio : Incremented build number to 4.22.1.196
