Where's my Floor Grid?!

Aaargh!  Something tweaked in my viewport and the floor grid disappeared, and all I have a simple cross hair.  I can't figure out how to get it back!

May I please have some help?

    Your settings for the Show controls are exactly the same as mine; are you sure you aren't zoomed really close to the scene centre? That's what I see if I frame an object that's really tiny.

    If that isn't it try changing the viewport colour - Window>Style>Customise Colours - in case it's the same as the grid lines.

    Thanks, guys! 

    I had tried adding a figure, which showed that it wasn't zoomed in close. 

    However, changing the color worked.  Somehow my grid lines were indeed the same color as the background.
