The clear button should not clear "all" simulations.
It should only clear the visible simulations.
UPDATE
It seems that re-pushing the simulate button would only clear the visible simulation.
So this is what I wanted. It is fine that clear clears all simulations.

If you open the Simulation Settings pane's option menu the dForce sub-menu has commands for simulating and clearing selected and/or non-frozen objects.
