G9F/G8F Size Difference

I am running DS 4.23.0.1 (the latest version) and I have noticed that when I load both a G9F and a G8F character into a scene, the G8F character looks HUGE compared to the G9F character. Is this normal or is there something strange going on here?

DarkElf,
Is this just with the base G8F/G9F, or is this with every character, regardless of generation? You got any examples? Also, check the "Currently Used" on the figures, as I recently had some weird overlapping morphs causing differnt type of distortion.

How huge? The default height has certainly been reduced for Genesis 9.
I think that's normal.
In my environment as well, Genesis 9 Base is much smaller than Genesis 8 Base.
Ultimately, the default height of a character is up to the character's creator.
Starkdog, it seems to have been with about three of them so far.
I originally thought maybe it was because of individual character dimensions. But, the size difference so such that I find it unlikely.
Right now I am using TMA Fae for G9F.
Yup. That's about what I am seeing. So, I guess it is normal.
Thanks Richard. Is there a specific ration difference?
...I've noticed even what are supposed to be lithe or slender G8 characters are rather "heavy" in build when they are first loaded in and I often have to spend time morphing them to look like they appear in the promos.
I don't think there's a set ratio, I think it varies by what the PA envisioned for the character.
G8F is around 10cm taller than G9.
It can vary from character to character (most PAs will simply use G9 default height, letting users change the height of a character to their taste with the Proportion Height morph) and can vary between core figures in the same line:
A couple of things to keep in mind:
This is so true and happens way too often. Sometimes they're quite accurate while at times we have the Ashley 9 Petite form situation. It would be nice if the Daz Original products listed accurate heights as they're typically perceived as higher quality and should be presented as such.
With that said, it's really a superficial thing when you have height sliders, alternate forms, specific body part morphs, to make any model the size you really want.
Wow! Thanks for all the feedback. So, all said and done, it is not just me. Thanks everybody.
Thanks so much for the explanation about the character morphs and how they work in comparison to starting with the G9 Base. I'm going to pay more attention to this so I can at least start with what the PA intended.
