New installed 4.23 has encountered a fatal error.

I reinstalled my Win11 today and installed the Daz Studio 4.23, when I edited the surface of a G8.1 character from my old scene in iray mode, the studio just crashed.

The error message is:

DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\libs\iray\libiray.dll" at 0033:000000002158EB11, mi_plugin_factory()+1974001 byte(s)

I really don't understand what's going on.

My Win11 and NVIDIA driver is the latest version.

64RAM, RTX4090, Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900HX

Please help!

Comments

  • It is probably the driver - several recent drivers have had issues, try rolling back to an older driver that still meets the minimum version requirement (537.13).

    Thanks Richard!

    After hours of testing, I might find what's the problem.

    My computer is MSI laptop GE68, so it has different mode built-in. When I reinstalled my Win11, the mode was restored to "AI Smart Engine" also,

    and this should be what caused the problem.

    I switched to "Performance", tested in iray, and everything works fine so far.

    (but "Balance" mode will crash, too.)

    I hope it could keep doing well, if not,

    I've already downloaded the 537.13 as you told me,

    and I'll try this.

    Thanks again.
