Rotation center problem with poses

Hello !

I have some poses libraries that causes me huge issues with moving models once the pose is applied.

The rotating center is completely [messed] up. It is not handy to move it in space but I can do this anyway (plus I can edit the Joint). The problem is I can't figure out how to put the rotating center to a correct angle (plane). So wh'en i try to rotate the model, it ends up in very unpleasant angle calculation in the parameter section.

Is it possible in DAZ to reset the rotating angle to it's default 90° ?

Thank you

Basically it is because there're values on Rotations of the figure's Root node which should've been set on Hip node... You can fix it by + / - rotation values from Root node to Hip node... or simply add a Group node to the figure then translate / rotate the Group.

  • It does sound as if you or the pose are applying major translations to the hiop, then you are trying to use the figure (which is now far from the hip) as a move control). The figure node should be used for scene placement, the hip should be used for pose placement (to keep the figure on the ground - if it isn't a flying pose of course - or to have it correctly placed relative to another figure in a multi-figure pose).

Ok both of your solutions worked, thank you!. I pretty much like the fixing by simply moving the rotating values from noot node to hip node. If it's time confusing, I don't have to unfold a group. Thank you !!

I didn't know that trick with manipulating hip instead of root node, I thought people were just using a way to "reset" the root node to original position (with magic?). Now it is clearer! Thanks.
It is a bit of a shame that people are selling products (poses packs) that do not match this! Thanks for explanation.

As a rulle from Daz, AFAIK, when making Pose products in DS, it's not allowed to add Rotations to the figure's Root node other than Hip node. But vendors from 3rd party sites "are not required to do so"... so you may encounter such an issue with some Pose products.
