Install Manager Question

Is there any way to turn off DIM's "check for updates" function so I can use the version I want to use?
Daz Studio does not force me to update, why does DIM?
The only thing I saw was to uncheck the Install Manager filter but that did not seem to stop it.
Also I don't remember DIM being this slow (v1.4.1.22 or v1.4.1.69). Takes 10-15 minutes to do anything, including opening the settings window.
Running Windows 7 Pro with 128GB of RAM and a 6-core processor @ 3.5GHz. Neither RAM nor CPU are being max'd out.

Work Offline so it won't see the updates and will let you install from whatever package is in the local DIM downloads folder.
Use a second computer to do new downloads would be the only way to keep from daz updating the dim on your work machine.
As for the slow... even though computers are running faster than 15 years ago. I'm up to 15,000 products that dim has to keep track of to even work offline.
Why do you not want to update DIM? That fixes bugs and adds additional feature people been wanting since it came out. I can see not updating DS cause not everything is supported with new version, but DIM isn't effected like that.
I never had major issues with DIM before this. Recently I saw ad banners added to DIM and that made me think they were slowing it down (and being annoying). So I tried uninstalling it and installing an older version. But it would always tell me there is a new version and would automatically update once I'm online.
Bugs and fixes? Never had them with DIM. Now I do. Go figure.
Not only is it slower than ever, but the DIM window goes blank white rather than just saying "Not Responding" and hangs for minutes or more. I'm also surprised by this new behavior considering I switched from housing my assets on an external drive to an internal SSD.
Thanks to another post about MACs where someone claimed to have luck on OS14, I decided to upgrade my MAC from OS13 to OS14. I couldn't get Studio to work on 13 but it seems to be working fine on 14 which seems like a miracle considering how long I've read comments about frustrated MAC users. The next thing to see is how both handle my 9000+ library on the MAC.
Mine seems to be running at the speed I usually get, and the ads are new within the 6-8 I think. You can close them, and it will leave them closed for that session. Sorry, but I'm not a mac user so @totte I'll ping one. Can you check your log in DIM and see if there are any errors in it, or paste the log here so we can take a look at it to see if we can figure out what may be hanging things up?
A bit confusing if the DIM issues experienced happens on macOS or on Windows?
Issues so far are on Windows. I haven't fully tested the MAC yet. I will see about getting a log file.
Moved to Technical Help as it is not a Daz Studio issue.
You can use an older version in offline mode, but when you connect to your account you must be using the current version (in order to make sure that store and application side remain synched). The notifications are downloaded at log-in, and refreshed infrequently while on line I think, so they will not impact performance. Security software certainly can impact performance, as can drive issues.
