(Released) FK dForce LUXE Chain Belts and Jewelry for Genesis 9

Hello everyone!

Here I am, this time introducing my latest release, the Chain Belts.

A huge bundle with loads of options, materials, and jewelry pieces to mix and match with all the existing FK´s sets with just a click.
Earrings, Belts, Pendants, and the amusement of watching the chains to simulate and graciously fall over the skin/clothings you selected.

It took me some time, but it is here now.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did crafting the Bundle pieces.

As always, I will be happy to see your renders and read your comments.

Fabi

    I have bought https://www.daz3d.com/fk-dforce-luxe-chain-belts-volume-2

Need to find a time to test it.

Oooh nice, I've bought the bundle today with the wishlist discount. A lovely set as always, and I'm saving copies of all promo pics cause they are so nice to look at. You're a gem, Fabiana!

Like usual, I did something off script here. I put the belt on G8F instead of G9. I had some trouble positioning it properly before simulation. Are there any tips for using it on other generations? (other than it's not designed to do that.)wink

@barbult I think it looks perfect! Being these all props, the cross generation is just a matter of translation and scaling. I myself did it for promos of that set using G8. The image looks flawless. If you had trouble, well, you solved it with success!

Thank you. I wasn't sure that translation and scaling was the right approach. The product has some morphs, but they didn't seem to accomplish the basic fitting. They appear to be for adjusting the tail after simulation. Is that right?

@barbult YES, exactly. Why not extra fits? Because I wanted these to be as undistorted as possible. After sim they look natural and regular over any given shape. General scaling doesn't break that look. In a word, keeping the real spirit of dForce :)

I did this one a couple days ago, but didn't post it. I was trying a bunch of stuff I bought but hadn't rendered yet. The posing looks kind of stiff and the composition is kind of strange, but oh well...
I tried (in vain) to dForce both the dress and the belt at the same time on the timeline with your settings. After about a dozen explosions, I gave up and simulated the dress by itself forst and then the belt in current frame. That finally worked.

@barbult that's the right way, same as with some hairs and clothing's. Layering isn't properly supported by dForce engine unless everything has the same physical characteristics... What's pretty unrealistic lol. But your image shows flawlessly how the chains lay over the dress, so you did it perfect! About posing... Lol... I use to pose myself like that in photos, so to me it's just fine :)

Layering should work, as long as the elements don't require radically different settings, as long as the Collision Layer values are set correctly. I just loaded a basic scene (one of the base Genesis 9 characters and poses from Starter Essentials, one of the HK dresses, and a belt) which woudl have been OK (dress was 1, belt was 2) though for some sets 2 might be a bit low. There was an explosion starting with base simulation settings so I upped the collision and quality options a fair bit - so far it is 36% through, after nine minutes, without exploding - I will update when it is done simulating or explodiung.

Well, it exploded at 37% - but still, in prinbciple dForce is designed for layering but it can be tricky to get the right settings and slow to execute so I am not actually arguing against doing it in stages.

After a dozen of explosions, I think I would be a bit stiff too blush

The final result looks great though smiley

Yes, in steps is always better. I myself do it with clothing items, even if some are specially set to be used together, I feel everything looks better when simulated in separated layers. Jewelry or belts go on top, IMO as in real life. But that's probably my TOC about the order lol :D

Base or default simulation settings (not the ones I sort for these elements) use to give me lot of problems with clothing or hairs. I don't know why, to me they need less gravity and other small but important tweaks for everything overall. Or my DS is haunted!

I usually add more steps (subframes etc.) and best collision detection when simulating, the defaults are very easily inadequate so it seems less painful to assume that they will need tweaking since - in my experience - the application nees a restart after a failure.

At one time, early on in the release of dForce, we were told that the Collision Layer values only worked for Good dForce collision mode, not Better or Best. Has that changed, or was that info incorrect at the time? This is a quote from Rob in 2017 in this message

The Simulation > Collision > Collision Layer property on a surface currently only works between separate objects when the Simulation > Collision > Collision Mode property on the Simulation Settings pane is set to "Good - Discrete : Swept Vertex". When the Collision Mode property is set to either of the "CCD" options (e.g., Better or Best), the Collision Layer property has no effect.

I don't know, I had completely forgotten about it.
