PostgreSQL -- it seems to be missing.

I have had a lot of problems with my content folders remaining empty after installation via DIM.

When I open, I get this message.

I've found a copy of the file on Daz3D through the forums.  But how the frick to you install it?  Do I put this into a folder myself?  Daz will not open it.  And I seem to have bought a lot of products that I cannot use, possibly because of this error.

I have deadlines.

Please help me move forward from frustration to creation.

  • I am beginning to see that this inability to find files installed by DIM has been a problem for a while.  (current November 2024)

I am using DIM (and always has). Has never had a problem finding my files.

Try to provide more information about what you are experiencing.

Well if you guys aren't going to help me make your product work, I guess I will have to ask for my money back.

I am feeling this today.  I've been trying to find an answer for several ----wasted---- days.  My deadline is not happy.

Thast is a general PostgreSQL error, nothing directly related to this thread. Make sure that you have PostgreSQL installed, assuming that you do and that it was working the main possibilities are security software updates blocking it or database corruption.

  • Posts to random other installation/file finding threads removed and replies consolidated as a courtesy to the poster. Do not ask the same question in multiple places, it just leads to those trying to help you duplicating their efforts.

  • In addition to my first reply, in regards to files can you find any in the Content Library pane under Daz Studio Formats? That is the only one which does not use the CMS database (PostgtreSQL) to populate its lists.

There seems to be no files.  All my files are not showing.  I assume it is because of the error.

I have installed the PostgreSQL installer -- whew, long process.  It did not change.  I should note, I had no problems about 6 months ago, when I was using Daz3D.

And, uninstalling/reinstalling Daz3D/installer has not changed anything.

    I am on Windows 10, 64bit.  32 ram.  2T between two drives.

I'd love it if there was an answer to this.  I recently spent about $100 in products.  Now I kinda wish I hadn't.

  • Screen recording.

No files.  I can open by searching/finding the file myself on my desktop, but it does not seem to allow me to add anything to the file I've opened.  Like, say, the wagon the horse is supposed to be pulling from the bundle I bought with that horse.

I've included a link below to the screen recorder video on my Youtube page, showing what happens when I open up Daz3D now.

  • RESOLVED:

    sorta

I found that buy going to Windows/Panes(tabs)/Content Library I could find my products.

    Good!  That'll work for now.

  • As I said, the only content view that doesn't depend on PostgreSQL is the Content Library pane - which you didn't open in your video. Since the horse loads it seems thaty your content paths are correct. You also have the database icon next to various products in the Installed tab of DIM, so that is communicating with the database OK. So the issue is PostgreSQL/communication with PostgreSQL.

If, in Install Manager, you type postgres into the filter box at top-right on the installed tab which version is listed? What security software are you running? What happens if you go to Edit>Preferences>CMS Settings and change the port and ContentCluster settings (make a note, especially of the Content Cluster path, since chnaging it means neither DIM nor DS can see the current database) - if you restart Daz Studio does the PostgreSQL error still appear?

I'm having the sane problem.  Everything worked perfectly yesterday, and today, I get the same message as Terisuwood.  I changed nothing since last night.

and have you tried any of the diagnostic steps listed above?

I uninstalled PostgreSQL and reintalled it, and now it works.
