How to register Alvin Bemar's Plug-Ins

Evening, everybody.  Been meaning to ask this for ages - I now have two plug-ins (that I'm aware of) which I need to register: Thickener and Typi3D, both by Alvin Bemar.  How exactly does one go about this?

    Hello,

You need to get a serial number for each plugins from here:

    https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/serialnumbers

And then, you paste them in the field near the name of each plugin (in Help > About Installed Plugins)

After restarting Daz Studio, the plugins should be active.

Go to My Account and then Serial Numbers.

The serial numbers for those plugins should be listed there.

Start Studio (I assume you've already downloaded and installed the plugins).

In Studio, go to Help|About Installed Plugins. You'll get a dialog with a list of all installed plugins. You'll notice some of them have a long space to type in a serial number and are showing a gray or red electrical plug icon, not a green one, indicating they can't be used/run until the serial number is typed in.

Copy and paste the serial numbers from your account page, one by one, into the appropriate places in that dialog. (You may have to press Return after each, it's been a while since I've done it.)

    Now RESTART STUDIO.

The next time you look at that dialog, those items should no longer show a place to enter the serial number at all, and the electric plug icons for them should be green.

P.S. Documentation for Bemar's plugins lives with the plugins, and not in the regular Studio content tree ... which is as it should be, but makes them a little hard to find. For example, the Thickener manual is located at

    [Your top Daz directory]/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/docs/Plugins/Thickener/Thickener Manual.pdf

I've set up custom icons in Studio to open docs for all three of my Bemar products or I'd never be able to remember where they are when I need them.

Thanks, Elor; that seems to have worked like a charm!

Yup, you anticipated my next question - where the darned things are hiding!  Will hunt that out.  That's a very clever idea on creating your own custom icons - is there info or a tutorial you'd recommend on how to do that?

This script from Daz allows to open a PDF file from Daz Studio but I don't know if it'll work with PDF stored outside of a Daz studio library (I never used it)

I wrote a brief doc a couple of years ago. Let me drag it out and I'll post it. I might give it its own thread, since it's a bit off-topic to this. Stay tuned.
